In my last post, everything before 'Seriously' was facetious. See what I did there? I'll be more liberal with the smilies next time.
Smilies aren't necessary. I saw your attempt at sarcasm. It was simply ineffective.
But since we're talking about it, you still believe those things about Palin? No wonder you see her as such a nutjob! Let me go through them really quick.
Me and many of her compatriots, as well as a majority of the voting public sees her as a "nutjob", as you put it.
"Sarah Palin bans books!"
Reba already covered this one. Thanks Reba!
Sarah Palin bans books was your quote. Again, I was referring to the quotes attributed to her; the words that came out of her mouth during the campaign. You are conveniently ignoring that. She does not have the power to ban books. She did, however, recommend that several books be removed from the library in Wasila. However you look at it, it is censorship. She is drunk on her own perceived power, as was shown by Troopergate. Fortunately for all, the power she thinks she holds is in her own mind only.
"Sarah Palin thinks Iraq is a mission from God!"
Fortunately, I already covered this one a while ago.
And Sarah covered it long before you did. I heard the words come out of her mouth during an interview. I'm certain the clips are still available, as well as the numerous news reports regarding such. Search a little harder.http://www.alldeaf.com/war-political-news/56652-palin-leaves-open-option-war-russia.html#post1089967
"Sarah Palin ignored her own supporters yelling 'Kill him!' and calling Obama the n word!"
Nobody in the Secret Service heard anybody yell "Kill him!" at the event, nor could they find anybody else who heard it. It's a claim made by a single journalist
(
Secret Service says "Kill him" allegation unfounded | Wilkes-Barre breaking news | timesleader.com - The Times Leader). The other incident with the n word turned out to be "redistributor" on closer inspection.
Oh, yeah. The n word sounds a lot like "redistributor.' And the Secret Service Agents who failed to hear what the journalist reports hearing were assigned to Palin. See the conflict there?
"Sarah Palin made racist comments against Obama!"
The AP made this claim in an "analysis", which reads more like an opinion piece, and a bad one at that (
Analysis: Palin's words carry racial tinge). If you choose to believe their absurd reasoning simply because they're attacking someone you don't like, then hey, it's America. But it not only weakens the credibility of real accusations of racism, much like the boy who cried wolf, it also degrades the level of discourse. If I were to utilize the same level of stupidity to criticize Barack Obama, I could write an "analysis" claiming he's a terrorist*. What good does that do anybody?
You could write one, but it would be seen as absurd and ignorant as Palin's accusations were seen.
As for going back through her old speeches and interviews, I covered that here.
No you didn't.
Regardless, there's hardly evidence she didn't teach Bristol about birth control. If anything, the evidence would seem to point the other way.
If one teaches, it also means one learns. It is a 2 way proposition. Obviously there was a breakdown in the process, because Bristol was not using the birth control she was supposedly "taught" about. If Palin was such a wonderful, involved mother, she would have taken her sexually active daughter to the doctor to make sure that she had birth control available instead of relying on the abstinence message to take hold. Or could it be that Palin was so busy trying to get her brother in law fired that she totally overlooked the signs that her daughter was sexually active as a minor, and therefore, did not take the steps necessary to protect her teen aged daughter from an illegitimate pregnancy? Family values involves taking care of business at home and dealing with what is going on in your own house before you step outside and attempt to force your false values on others.
*Note: To avoid misunderstanding, I'm not saying Barack Obama is a terrorist. I'm pointing out that such rhetoric is harmful.
