Click on the link below and the video title you want to view is "Danville Losing Hundred of Jobs".
http://www.todaysthv.com/video/default.aspx

I have known Lambo for the past two years and he is on the nightshift maintenance crew. His wife Goua is a line manager on nightshift as well.

This is a very scary time for this town. We never believed this company would go belly up like this, even when the poultry market got bad as poultry will always be in demand.

When the line bosses were talking about the plant shutting down in October, I knew then, it was for sure closing. We received our notices before we left for the Thanksgiving holiday.

I have never seen the poultry market this bad and even the other poultry processor in town, Wayne Farms, has cut back production from 5 days a week to just four days a week. It will take a huge economic boom to bring both of these companies back up to full production capacity.

And no, I wasn't at work of the time that Ch. 11 was there, it was well after dayshift had gotten off and Lambo doesn't get there until after 2:30 pm.

Wasn't able to see the video, oh well. Too bad you weren't shown, would love to see what you look like, which I'm sure isn't the cat in your avatar. :D

I see the station is hiring . . . too bad I don't qualify.

Thanks for the video, Dixie. The state of the economy is frightening right now.

You wouldnt want to see me in my work clothes. I look downright awful. Of course if I had been around that part of town in my street clothes then I wouldn't have minded giving them a quote. It's all about the hair ya know? ;)

Besides I believe there are 800 idiots that run around that plant wearing brown smocks, white hairnets, rubber boots and bright blue rubber gloves. Now wouldnt that make a fashion statement on a New York runway!

But at least you got a mini-tour of my hometown. :D As well as a glimpse of where I work. I may try to sneak in there sometime with a video camera and let you see the inside. I have ample opportunity, I just have to remember to bring the camera in and pray I don't get caught.

We need to start a fund and whoever can submit any picture (verified) of Dixie wins the kettle. A picture of her truck doesn't qualify . . .
