Question for a Moderator..?

Ask the moderator about what happened in the PM and please don't ask the members of the forum because they DO NOT know the answer at all.

Yeah... Agreeing.....

Please let us know after mod answer so Me too curious that True it's will be reduced to post number with delete posts?? :D

Can't we discuss how many people this may be happening to?

The question in the OP's thread is obviously for a moderator and one replied. Meanwhile waiting to see. I see nothing wrong with discussing the issue. As long as no one is bashing the mods or Alex until we know why from a valid source.

Thank you Babyblue. I was starting to think i did something wrong by bringing the topic up at all.:dunno:

By no means you are not wrong to ask about a technical issue. It is not a personal one.

I personally do not know if my post "count" been deleted or not. I don't keep track of it or find any means to do so. Post counts are not an importance to me as long as I can post to discuss.

That is what matters to me. I joke about it because I find it humorous.

Now.
1+1+1=3.
:rofl2:

If a spammer creates a thread and some members post in that thread, their posts will be reduced because the whole thread was removed.

If a member creates a thread that shouldn't have been created (insulting another member, revealing information that was intended to be private, etc) and other members post in that thread, then the post count will be reduced cuz the thread will be deleted.

There are also members who make pointless posts that shouldn't even be posted in the first place (like I'm going to do in this thread because they're off-topic), those will be deleted as well.

If a member posts something that's not permitted and another member replies to that post, then both posts will likely be deleted due to both being related. (#1 says "This is retarded." #2 quotes #1 and replies "Shut up!" Both posts will be deleted.)

There are a lot of reasons why posts are deleted. When a whole thread or multiple posts are deleted, we can't contact every single member to explain that reason. If you're wondering, you'll get a better response from sending a PM to us moderators.

I also suggest you contact more than one moderator. There are moderators here that visit on a frequent basis, like me and a couple others. If you want, you can send to all of us. :)

:hmm:

Ok. So that will be -4 post after this one.

If this thread is removed.

I dont really care about my post count as have more important things to contemplate than a number below my avatar.

If I were 1 post away from 5,000 then I had a number of my posts deleted due to threads being purged from the site then who cares, I can make the number rise again by continuing to post in other threads.

However, there are folks who do nothing but sit around and try to run up the number of posts as they believe that the number of posts is a badge of seniority on the forum which couldn't be further from the truth as many of those posts are often conversations with themselves or meaningless one word posts or posts with just one smiley face on it. (No offense to Jake though as he has made many meaningful posts on this forum), but people likened to 'HER' and others who fall into that same catagory if that makes any sense.

Every forum has their bonafide postwhores, and every forum has its members that make few posts, but the posts they make, have weight and make one think and thus brings about further discussion within the forum.

Totally agree! I could post in every thread here on AD, but I choose not to. I only post what I really want to post on, whether it's a heated discussion or a light-hearted thread. But I don't post just for the sake of bringing my numbers up. Heck, I've been a member since 2005 and I still only have 800 something posts.

I never really noticed my post count if it did decrease.
