My friend who working for a contractor or carpenter for 20 years. He can do installing wood stove in my home with reasonable price Because Its cost me 6000.00 for hire and installing from Wood stove Store.

He explains to me that When He is installing the new wood stove then asking my town inspection it then passes.. Town will give the note for let my home insurance know about this?

:ty:

PS I will be calling Town inspection on Tuesday! ( every tuesday open)

Cool!

I would like to find an antique woodstove for my home one day.

Your insurance would increase the fee a little bit if you have a woodstove. It is a great idea to have a woodstove in your house, and I believe that it is worth it.

You might want to request a fireman to inspect your woodstove for safety.

I don't know how it works for you....

After the work is done on the woodburning stove--you might want to have a certified roofer come out to check to make sure that it was done appropiately in regards to the roof.

If not--you may be in for a suprise when it rains and it drips around the pipe in the ceiling. (That has happend to me! )

The other thing I notcied is that you have a friend doing this.....I would suggest biting the bullet and spend the $6000.00 from the wood burning stove store as they are guaranting their work.

If something bad happens--you can always go back to the store to complain about it for them to come and fix it.

If you have your friend do it and their are mistakes--it may hurt your friendship and you will have a mess on your hand.

It is a lot of money but WORTH IT! :) I've enjoyed mine!

I always wanted an outdoor wood-stove furnace house in my backyard. I don't think that it will work due the smoking issue problem - it is a little bit too close to my neighbor houses. Sight!

Do you mean a wood stove that burns thru a fireplace, or a whole-house wood-burning furnace? We have a wood stove, and Hubby installed it himself about 16 years ago, no problems.

almost double insurance rate will go. I already found out by asking.

Don't ever think about hiding from Insurance company. Why? If your house is burnt down and they find out you got woodstove without them knowing then they have right to refuse cover you, so ask yourself is this worth the risk of not letting Insurance company know?

Yeah that s why I need a note for passes from wood stove for insurance! :)

Will update after I will be calling an inspection, fire station and insurance. :)

Phillips good luck on your new woodstove. :).

Just in time for a long cold winter.

We thought of that too but not worth for our almost 1200 sq feet house. Best is in country because electric/gas cost more in country than in city. I dunno why.

Ohhh woodstove....*jealous* I WOULD love to have one but not worth it for our house. Oh well! It's OK! If we decide to sell this house, then we'll find a house that has wood stove or outdoor wood-stove.

So enjoy it!

Yea DHB got the point! What is the update eh? Did you get the wood stove or what? I rather outdoor furnace because less work, only 2x a day to fill up woods then not worry about it for about 12 hours. Of course check from time to time. We just installed our own wood stove...my husband did it himself. Of course we got the permit from the city then install everything. It was worth it but I hate when it get so hot! UGH! I don't mind up to 75-76 that's it. I feel comfortable. oh well...
