CHICAGO, Illinois (CNN) -- President-elect Barack Obama called Nancy Reagan on Friday to apologize for a remark about seances he made during his first news conference earlier in the day.

When a reporter asked Obama if he had spoken with any ex-presidents since his election on Tuesday, he responded that he had spoken to all former presidents "that are living."

"I didn't want to get into a Nancy Reagan thing about, you know, doing any seances," he said.

Nancy Reagan, wife of 40th President Ronald Reagan, was derided in 1988 when his former chief of staff Donald Regan revealed in a book that the first lady had consulted an astrologer to determine the president's schedule.

Obama apologized to Reagan "for the careless and offhanded remark," Obama transition team spokeswoman Stephanie Cutter said....

It's good you never let your bitterness about the election turning out differently that you wanted show, Reba.:hmm:

Give Obama a break, Reba.

After all, he hasn't even been in office yet and you're *already* criticizing him?

Well, give Palin a break. You still criticize and make fun of her.

Pretty funny! :)
Not a serious gaffe, though.

Yep, I've read it yesterday. I share this article with a deaf friend of mine who live in Midwest. We were discussin' about how the " history " still repeats. Nothin' new. Thanks for sharin', Reba.

The "history still repeats?" What history might that be, Maria?

Boy, oh boy. And some people talk about the fact I hate Palin when it's obvious that the very same people hate Obama just as much -- if not more. Talk about being hypocritical.

Exactly. He apologized.

As much as I admire Nancy Reagan, I have to say, though..

What is the world is she doing consulting psychics for? That's where Obama's remark was derived from. If she wasn't engaging in such whacky behavior, he wouldn't have anything to remark about.

Precisely.

Oops... sorry to add this one : Same history as it have done in the past. I don't think Obama will resolve all problems he will face. None of the leaders can.

Well, for your information, I don't hate Obama. I just DON'T agree with his ideas on many issues. Simple.

Based on the inaccurate information you've been spreading courtesy of various blogs, you could have surprised me.

You're more than welcome to disagree with Obama's policies, but please don't continue to create panic where there is none or spread false information because that's not cool. :nono:

hi maria, we havent spoke yet, im very interested to hear what policies you dont agree with from obama, can you tell me what and why please?

Maria,

"Same history as it have done in the past?" What do you mean by that?

Are you referring to the Reagan Administration, the George H. W. Bush Administration, the Clinton Administration, the George W. Bush Administration?

Please clarify.

Oh I hate Obama. Simply because he is going to make baby murder legal. Sorry if I offend anyone but that's just how I feel.

Um, abortion has been legal since Roe vs Wade. Obama will NOT make it more legal than it already is. Obama will only make sure it stays legal by appointing liberal judges to the Supreme Court.
