Watch the stock market keep on sinking tomorrow....

Actually, Shel, the DOW ended at -777.68 at closing on the bad news of "no deal" and squabbling, thanks in part to Pelosi.

Pelosi?!

Shoot...the Republicans couldn't get behind their main man at 1600. The same man that called for the bailout.

Don't try to pin it on the Dems Tousi.....:cool2:

We probably would never know who is at fault.

Hint: It's the same man that has bankrupted several different oil corporations in Texas that is sitting in the Oval office.

And now....he is bankrupting America.

The dems had the majority. They alone could have passed this. It failed by 12 or 13 votes and 95 dems voted against it.

Ok, both sides of the aisle were childish. Pelosi made some partisan remarks just before the vote and many balked, just like children. Pelosi should not have been partisan at such a critical hour and those who balked should be ashamed because their wittle feelings were hurt vs thinking of their country.

Not without the help from the Republicans.

Goes to show that the Republican party is in a state of disarray if they can't support their leader at 1600.

No, you cannot blame it on just the one man.

Read again, man! 217 votes were needed. 140 dems voted FOR and 95 dems voted NAY. 140 and 95 adds up to what?

:(

Mine is free, so....maybe I'll send a check to help you out. :)

Use my cpu meaning being able to pay for Internet services...my cpu is paid off but without Internet access, no good!

SEC Chairman Christopher Cox is the most dishonest businessman of all in the history. Here is the picture of this man that hurt our U.S. economy.

That's right, it's simple math.

The majority of dems still voted for. Blaming the whole party is reverting to partisan politics, isn't it?
Who's blaming a whole party? Neither party voted 100 percent for or against the bill.

:ty: for know my posts, Liza and Jillo

Most people say feelings are from the heart, meaning emotions. Where else do you get your feelings from? Your feet?

You make an assumption without ask me for specific because most people you know, said this?

Anyway, are you saying that heart is responsible for feelings or emotion, not brain?

I'm saying the heart represents feelings and emotions, and the head represents rational fact-based decision making.

OK, I'll ask you specifically. Do you believe people should make important political decisions with the heart (feelings and emotions) or the head (rational fact-based decisions)?

You're welcome.

I don't believe I posted that I wanted to "beat" the Obama-Biden ticket. I probably posted something about not voting for that ticket because they didn't represent my views or goals. I've also posted that McCain was not my first choice but he is much closer to my view and goals than Obama.

Either way, I'm not concerned with "beating" anyone. I know who ultimately controls the future, and it isn't the President of the United States.

That doesn't mean that I take my voter responsibility lightly, or give up striving to do the best for my country. I just don't let it consume me.

Okay, I just thought you posted something like that. I'll take your word for it that you didn't. Thanks for the clarification.

Who was your first choice?

I don't take my responsibility lightly either, and no one else should at that. As long as we make an informed choice within our integrity, we can say we have done our very best for our country.

That's right, the majority of the dems still voted for it. It was truly surprising to me that half of the Republicans voted against it. We all thought the bill would pass.

Peloski can't get all the blame for this. Like one person said earlier.. can't blame one person. Clearly there already has been pre-existing doubts. I can see different reasons and concerns that are probably valid for people voting against it. But I still see people wanting to pass this bill, with some more fixes.

How can it not be prudent to want more work on the bill before passing it? Why the urgency to pass it quickly?
