What's your FEAR?

Having fears also mean you're in denial.

Frogs are the best drug ever.

I understand. I hate being late too but it's not a fear though.

Ahh....another issue that could be related to the fear of being restrained. Being restrained means relinquishing control. Being overly concerned with promptness is also a way to remain in control. Not saying you are neurotic or anything, but just showing how all of our behaviors are interrelated, and that perhaps dealing with the real issue behind all the behaviors will alleviate the troubling symptom. For instance, exploring the need to be in control will alleviate the fear of having your blood pressure taken and the need to always be ontime.

Liza, Im with you, I fear checking the mail- I might uncover a bill. Thats worse than any snake or spider in your bed, and happens much more frequently than that too. :giggle:

Wow, I will have to do that, reprogram my mind. You are right, I think that I have control issues. Only towards my own life though. I hate not having control over what happens to me. I hate being restrained, I want to be free. LOL Neurotic. Not me, but I do like being in control over my own life.

oh maybe..... Jasmine has an insanely low blood pressure and the machine cuts off the circulation just for a several seconds... which is probably why she fainted. hhhmmmm :hmm:

I would die if I found a frog in my bed. Seriously. Heart attack.

even this doll on your bed?

I am always late for work.... up to 40 min and oddly - boss's not throwing a fit about it. maybe it will be one day.... My bus's always late.

there was a white rabbit in Alice in Wonderland? :hmm: I don't seem to recall.....

Yes, there was a white rabbit in Alice. He ran around saying, "I'm late, I'm late, for a very important date!"

Being consistently late is a passive aggressive tendency.

HIghly unlikely.

Most of us do, lol. The trick is to harness it for productive uses, and not let it control us unconsciously.

whoa wtf... that sounds.... scary... :Ohno:

i'm aggressive? :-o what does it mean exactly?

Jiro, passive aggressive is a covert way of expressing your anger or frustration. It's kinda dysfunctional behavior because you're not communicating or being honest about your anger or frustration.

Indeed, the white rabbit is scary!

Passive aggressive. In the scenario you describe, it would be showing your boss that you are in control of the situation by consistenly being up to 40 minutes late and passively demonstrated that you have "power" over another. It is a compensation for some perceived power struggle that you are fighting against, (e.g. being in a position of subordinance to a boss).

:hmm: very interesting.... "power" over him... I'm afraid to say that you are somehow correct. Wow I never thought of that. I was late for this month partially because of my insomniac problem. It usually lasts for about a couple weeks to a month. Once it's gone, I'm usually always on time.

Excellent explanation.

Ahh, but you stated earlier that you were always late for work.:hmm: And "usually" on time? What would be the reason for the exceptions?

Is it possible that the insomnia just provided you with a convenient excuse for being late? Someone with passive agressive tendencies always has what, on the surface, is a viable excuse. Further examination shows a pattern, however. Not picking on you; just asking you to look below the surface.

that's why it's a partial reason. your description of Passive Aggressive is more accurate description of me than Liza's because i'm not angry or frustrated. I guess that's another definition of Passive Aggressiveness. Would you say "maverick" is passive aggressive too?

Just a few little things contributed to me being late - insomniac + tons of unpredictable constructions in my area lately + bus's frequently late up to 25 min.
