Reasons why Alldeaf bans religious

Too intense for some people?

Or too many non believers in this forum?


I did this because I went to a thread made by a boy from Mid East looking for a deaf girl cause he doesn't know english. He spoke of Islam and Koran.

Why aren't we allowed to talk about those lies or facts about religious?

This will be closed. Just wanted few reasons. So I can understand.
 
Sad to say some people dont have thick skins or know how to let it go.
 
It seem there are too many to argue.

I thought maybe because homosexual that felt it's not fair. *shurg*
 
You can go be very angry at me because I was one of them who cause the religion subforum to close, or was it really my fault? I dunno.
 
The religion forum was open in the past.

It went well at first, then people started attacking each other and starting flame wars.

It got to a point where it needed to be temporarily closed.

Later, it was re-opened when members agreed to not let it get out of hand and to do their best to keep their comments neutral.

Well, it got out of hand... worse than before.

So, it was locked again.

Even in non-religious threads, some members would go off-topic by adding a religious comment and others would jump in starting a flame war. Those threads ended up getting locked.

If everyone really wanted the religion forum to be re-opened, then they should have kept their mouths shut and shown respect.

It's something everyone needs to earn.
 
Vampy, I thought Alex said that he need more mods to reopen the religion forum?
 
Instead of close down threads, why dont ban members who cross the line? I think religion forums should remain open because everyone can learn from something from other different religion and it may help to shed off "stereotypes" of one certain religion group.

If I am mod, I would ban people for being retarded or lash out personal attack than closing down forums. Pity.

That's true.

Think of it like the police department. The more crimes we have, the more policemen needed by the police department.

If members can show that they can handle things without us moderators having to deal with them all the time, then more moderators wouldn't be needed.

Good post, Lumbingmi, I had tried suggest the same thing few times, but they don't listen because maybe they are scare of being blunt with the members, I guess?

Ahh gotcha, so is he looking for new mods or he was just saying that he need more mods if we want the religion subforum open again?

If we did that, half of you would be banned by now and there would be no one else to talk to.

Are u kidding me? I believe we have over 1,000,000 members. I doubt half of them are going to be on "Crusade' and destroy other faiths.

We have about 21,300 members. :)

You doubt that half of them are going to go on a "crusade"?

Then how do you explain those religious comments that keep coming up by members who are already aware of the no-religious-posts policy? ;)

Actually he didnt speak it. Somebody found a Koran quote from a website and posted it for saying probably they are not treating deaf in his country. I posted there later on for explaining that quote is half missing and actually not targeting deaf people. That boy, original poster didnt even understand whats going on and why it suddenly became about religion in his thread.

I feel bad about it too , even though I wasnt the one who brought religion to his thread , we together caused his thread got locked.

I dont know the history of religions section. I am not aware if things were out of control there. Subject like religion and politics requires people to take things easy. Its a two way street. Neither one side should be too harsh with his words nor other side should get offened by every critisizim. I have seen forums handling a civilized envoriment for these kind of subjects.

I think free speach rule should be followed. Everybody can express their feelings and opinions without causing hate and disorder. But if people only use these subject for cursing on each other , then it is not difficult to understand why they are not allowed.

I hope section will get open again and discussions will be kept civilized.

Ah I thought we have 1,o00,000 members bec of "Alldeaf 1,000,000" on the top of this website.

I think the reason why members keep bringing up about religion is we re starve for religion debates. It s certain more fun to post in religion threads than "Whatever you feel..." thread jeebus.
 
The "1,000,000" is because we have over 1,000,000 posts. We hit that mark a while back. :)
