Tropical storm Fay will just miss me down here in Miami. Tomorrow morning it will be hitting us hard. I hate everything about these tropical storm...except one. I like when the city council comes on the tube with a very skilled terp signs the messages. Those signers are top-notch and I can extract (now) most of the signs being communicated. Normally such terps do not appear on TV so, in this case, I mute the set and try to follow along via the signs.

I live in the Keys. We're experiencing her wrath right now. We've had wind, rain, and numerous tornado warnings and the worst of it isn't expected until later tonight. To say I'm nervous is an understatement! :Ohno:

What are you still doing down there? Oh boy Oceanbreeze, you're in my thoughts.

We didn't leave. Didn't think Fay was going to come straight up the Keys. Blah blah blah. You know the stupid people who stay because they think it's not going to be as bad as it actually is...? Today, I'm one of those stupid people!

I'll be alright. I'm not alone, but damn this bites!

We're getting tropical storm watch up here in the northeastern coast of Fla.. people are anticipating the worst, but I hope it's still a tropical storm by the time it comes my way.

No rain yet.. still warm and a bit sunny.

Stay safe, OB and AB!

It will effect NE Florida? That sucks. I have family in central Florida who will get it as bad as the folks in the Keys. I hate this time of year.

I know! Me too, Aqua. :( But, things are improving down here. But, it's heading right for you, so take care.

My prayers are with you in Florida.

You will be in my prayers for no damage from Fay.

I live where the projected path is going right through. They're saying Fay'll travel up Charlotte Harbor again, just like Charley did four years ago. We live only ten minutes from Charlotte Harbor. We've rolled down the hurricane shutters and helped my relatives with their huge house. ANything can happen so I wouldn't be too sure until the 11pm advisory.

Schools in Sarasota and Charlotte counties are closed for tomorrow. My guy is out helping his bosses batten down the hatches down at work--and said that everyone's running out of gas now. And the wind's starting to pick up. The majority of the winds/rain will come late, late tonight with landfall at daybreak.

Stay posted.

Yea, I am in Central Florida where they are saying that Fay will hit sometime tomorrow. All schools here will be closed tomorrow and Wednesday.

Hey Islandbreeze, stay safe!

You all are in my prayers. I hope everything is ok in Florida.

I am in Fort Myers area as I can see heavy rain outta here. Strong wind, too and yet, it is still warm outside. It's going to be my first time to experience this since I moved down here from Alaska.

Hey Islandbreeze, stay safe!

Thanks!! stay safe tomorrow when Fay gets up to Central Florida. Hopefully it will de-intensify as it continues over land.

I am tired. A little mini-hurricane party with Jon. Anyway, the track shifted to the east overnight so it's rolling through North Naples. Just below Ft. Myers. So we are on the GOOD side of the storm. Better yet, not much intensification!!! Like a city commissioner said, "It's good to be ready for the big one later on".

Maria, that's your Florida welcome! Welcome!!! You are only 30-40 minutes south of me. I was just in North Naples two days ago---right where the center is right now.

I forgot to add that the winds are blowing hard right now, a rainy day with more wind than rain. It will probably rain on and off as the bands swirl around. Yesterday at sunset, it was GORGEOUS with the winds picking up. I took pictures. Sometimes it gets HOT right before a hurricane but not yesterday. You can feel the winds start to pick up when a hurricane approaches. Sometimes you can see the swirly bands in the sky just like the weatherman would draw it on his map.

This time no damage so far. Whew. Gonna haul out the toys back outside.

Thanks! I live in Fort Myers area. Would love to meet some ADers who are from Florida some day. :D

Saw many lizards around - yikes! Not like in Alaska that I know of. I hope that the hurricane don't last around here that long. I believe it will subside soon - hopefully! :D

Thanks once again, IslandBreeze07!
