Chevrolet Volt in 2010

The Honda Civic Hybrid is NOT a sports car. It's a encobox. It goes to 60 mph in 11-12 seconds, slow.

So?

To me, it screams sporty and there's a lot that can be done to make it so (spoilers, glass pack muffler, etc, performance parts, etc).

While I do not support banning SUVs, I do support increasing their gas mileage.

I think that our government is too conservative when it comes to fuel economy standards. We should have cars that get 40-50mpg by now and instead, they want to raise the standards to something much less than that (I forgot exactly how many mpg).

Also, what is it with people who do not know how to drive SUVs? I have seen people who cannot properly park them, people who use them as tanks to intimidate other drivers and people who are clearly overcompensating for the lack of a big dick or huge tits or whatever.

I prefer sports cars and that's why the Civic Hybrid is something that appeals to me.
I agree.

I've always driven cars my whole life. I do wish I had a SUV instead. I'm a big guy and prefer big comfortable vehicles for when I have friends with me. My first car was a 2-door LeBaron convertible. It was a nice car, but uncomfortable in the back for when people rode with me. My second car was a 4-door Cimmaron. Sadly, the trunk was small. My third car is a 4-door Sedan. It's nice, but still small. When I go out, it's usually me joining other people instead of others joining me.

You're right, I've also seen people who don't understand how dangerous SUVs are. They think that their SUVs are like their cars. They can't even look at a parking space and tell if it's big enough for their SUVs. They even approach spaces the wrong way.

The Honda Civic Si is a sports car. It would be silly to do performance add ons on a hybrid. *shrugs* That's like trying to modify a Geo Metro with 3 cylinder engine.

Around here, it's pretty common for people in SUVs to take up two parking spaces or even park in a perpendicular fashion.

Well, technologies on SUV are quietly different from regular car, SUV has same frame as truck does and engine are varies, depends on model of SUV, baseline Ford Escape is using 4 cylinder since V6 is other optional, that save some gas but not great as Honda Accord. Now, technologies seems little limited and SUV or big truck couldn't go after 30 mpg due different frame, engine and possibly weight. Crossover is special of SUV style that use less gas than regular SUV, every SUV are varies based on model.

I'm not prefer to get hybrid car because of high maintenance and less speed than gas powered car, I want into different source over hybrid, also I need big car as well like Honda Accord is little big and perfect fit for my height, I'm personally prefer SUV (american only like Ford and Chevy) at overall due comfortable and my preference but not get SUV in later time, probably after college and start on family life, also when energy cost is reasonable, such as recovery or different source that's more reasonable. I love Honda Accord, that 1 of my preferred car for Honda to save gas but not great as Civic, I had tried drive on Civic and dislike it.

I'm not prefer to get hybrid car because of high maintenance and less speed than gas powered car,

Who says so? The Canadian Taxi driver put about 200k miles on his Toyota Prius and it had no major problems and it was very reliable.

Well, my preference don't meet hybrid car, however I'm happy with gas powered car but had drive for less.

Wow, Honda CRX. It seems that no one has beat the Honda CRX HF's gas mileage and it's NOT even a hybrid. It got like 60 mpg!

I am not sure which type..DX or HF? I think he told me he made 50mpg or something. Happen in 6 years ago. He sold it and bought Honda Accord for more speed. He sick of slow like snail but great for gas that good for student. Now he got the job.

I think it's a myth that hybrids are slower and require higher maintenance. If your car is covered under a warranty, then you can get problems fixed while it is.

More likely the HF. The DX more likely got 35-40 mpg or so.

Here's the link to the HF's fuel economy. It's sad that they're trying to make hybrids to equal CRX and Geo Metro's economy in the past, even the CRX HF beat the Smart by a hair. http://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/noframes/2911.shtml

Then you better contact them and have them make it sign-commanded before it comes out. ;)

But then again, I don't know if I would want a voice-commanded (or sign-commanded) vehicle. I can imagine having an accident in the car while communicating with my friends.

Friend: Hey, that was a fun party!
Me: Yeah, it was! I really enjoyed it!
Friend: Hahaha... I really enjoyed the poking part. We were all poking each other all night long. It made me feel ticklish!
Me: Hehehe! Me too! I was never that ticklish!
Friend: *pokes me* Hmm... still ticklish?
Me: Hahaha... not really.
Friend: *pokes me repeatedly* Ticklish yet? Hehehe!
Me: Okay, I'm starting to get ticklish... stop. Hahaha! *giggling*
Friend: *pokes me harder and faster* Hahaha... this is fun!
Me: Stop!

*car stops*

*car behind me hits me*

*car behind car behind me hits car behind me*

I can see the headlines of the newspaper. "DEAF DRIVER ABRUPTLY STOPS CAR ON INTERSTATE CAUSING A 10-CAR PILE-UP"

oh, hahaha, man, I can't stop laughing. That's true.

If it is voice-commanded, we, deafies, are in deep shit if it becomes a trend.

there's a converter for deaf people. I think MIT came up with it recently a month ago. A camera that watches your signs and then it will convert it into the command. pretty cool, huh??

I remember I saw one 5ft woman drove Hummer3. WTF?

I can't help since my wife's best friend's father are so jerk and he complained too much and he complained about his wife's 2007 Chevrolet Malibu due too small for him and he is happy with his Ford F450 which is 10mpg but he don't pull anything. NOTHING. Just enjoy drive. His height is around 6'2. WHAT THE FUCK?

insecurity...

I dislike Chevy Volt because is funny design and too small. I want SUV. I never heard about new SUV?????

I never want to have SUV.

Chevy Volt is nice style... almost look alike Chrysler Crossfire
I used to drive sport cars for many years.
My 1980 Porsche 924 is excellent on gas (40 MPG).
I did drive many different cars (1969 Corevette, MG, Triumph, Lancia, Ferrari, Alfa Romeo and Fiat Spider)

I think it's a myth that hybrids are slower and require higher maintenance. If your car is covered under a warranty, then you can get problems fixed while it is.

No, I got knowledge from some employees that went service my car, such as change the oil, they told that hybrid car has more high maintenance cost than gas powered car and default warranty couldn't last if you are after 36,000 miles (depends on model) and I means lower speed from hybrid car that means couldn't go after 80 mph or more, that's not myth.

You just misunderstood what I said, like Sequioas said Civic Hybrid could go 60 mph in 11-12 seconds, that's so slower, good for street but bad for highway, also you should learn how to respect people's preference, if they want gas powered car or SUV, that's their choice, not yours.

How am I disrespecting the preferences of others? I didn't call you an idiot, did I?

 I wonder who will be the last person to make a post before this thread gets locked!!
