...has finally flicked the switch off for the final and last time at 9:35pm tonight.

Big Brother in Australia is gone for good.
For particular reasons that it decided to be axed.

No offense, I never liked the game and finally they have just flicked the switch for the last time.

What!? Big Brother is axed!? Noooooooooooo! I have never watched the show anyway! :)

You know, it might not be axed? Channel 9 might buy the show.

I never watched it either! I wouldn't even care for it.

Well I think Americans are just getting sick of 'reality' shows that put people in the least realistic situations.

Even Survivor viewership is down.

After nearly a decade I do believe reality TV has finally run its course for this generation and we are ready for some down home family sitcoms like "Home Improvement" "Family Matters" "George Lopez" etc. I wish they would bring back "Judging Amy" and "The Gaurdian". But Simon Baker has returned to American TV on CBS on a new series titled "The Materialist" I think it is going to be good.

YOU dont, I do. Mom watches that show religiously.

I never watched the American version. Everything I read about it seemed really stupid.

That pile of crap is off Australian screens at last!

Never cared much for it - only watched the first series like my life depended on it LOL! But afterwards, I stopped watching it. I guess it got real bad after the first time it aired.

Ahh... Blair... the memories :D

I have a feeling in the next year or so reality shows are going to taper off and we are going to see more series. If you noticed even the crime dramas are dropping off in ratings as well. Look at all CSIs and Law & Orders we have on various networks, some of them running syndicated seasons while the home network is airing the current season.

I have avoided watching Australian TV because of the amount of reality TV shows.

But, I have noticed that we now have less reality TV shows, and more TV series. So, I guess things are improving. Hopefully the next major improvement for Australian television will be when they screen shows as soon as they are screened in the US. :)
