iPhone 3G's GPS is not great as GPS device

Google map is not a navigator at all and never been an navigator. It just a map like your old fashion paper map with niffy search address feature that all.

If you want a navigator then buy a navigator like Garmlin or Lowernce etc. or buy software that is a navigator

I already have one for long time and it need laptop and pain in ass to carry. Well it was cost only $99 in 4 years ago which most GPS device cost over $300 that time.

iPhone 3G isn't alone, it does happen to any phone with windows mobile, google map runs in wrong turn or off the road.

One driver was killed by train.

Yeah. Only for an idiot driver who follow GPS and ignore road/sign. tsk tsk.

I watch both road and GPS so I have no problem with that for years.

I remember that two years ago, my friend and I use computer/internet's google map/earth. He gave me his number and name street where he lives. Found out that Google Map pointed wrong house. I would say... about 12 houses away from his house. I told him GOOD NEWS. If, they plan to drop bomb from the airplane. Hit wrong house. Not his house.
