Santiago's Much-Hyped Metro System Not Very Handicap-Friendly

"This was recorded recently in Santiago, Chile. Santiago's metro system is the newest and most extensive subway system in South America. However, it's not very handicap-friendly. One adapts I guess."

Somehow I feel that this serves as a good example for some of you AD'ers who felt frustrated with rude people for not being accommodating to your needs. Even though its metro-system isn't handicapped-friendly, he/she just make do and he wasn't being self-conscious to accept help from a kind person.

I suppose the lesson here is - even though in some situations where you may be at disadvantage, just make do without being angry about yourself and others and graciously accept help from anybody. :cool2:

I agree.

You can't expect the world to work in your favor at all times. There will always be barriers at different times during your life.

I'm just grateful that there are still some people out there who are patient enough to help out if needed.

In this video, someone actually stopped to help this person. That goes to show that it's not the end of the world.

I'm not surprised about the metro system's lack of handicap support. It's in another country that doesn't take handicap seriously. It will be a matter of time before this seriousness does take effect.

or maybe they simply forgot to include the handicap factor in their design. It happens when the project's very ambitious and pressured to finish it asap. now they gota install elevator.
