i bought a first generation CRX.. 1986 Honda CRX 1.5i i think it's a EW4 engine

anyone? i need a opinion about my crx. it's a manual transmission...

can i get a b16a engine or not?

classic design... great gas mileage... I hope you know how to repair your car well cuz 1986 car means repair will cost you more than gas+insurance combined. but other than that.... congrat!

are Ya plan to soup it up? it will look bad when ya do that.. i know a guy that souped his crx up and increase the horsepower and paint job etc and it looks so rad!

Hey, first of all congrats on your purchase of the CRX.

Since it's carbeurated, it will be difficult to convert from carb to fuel injection. ZC motor rated at around 125 hp is the best bolt in and they don't cost too much if you find one with low mileage.

Hey, so, that's where my car went? JK

Congrats! I drove an 86'CRX (automatic) it was my first car ever. I liked it so much my second car was an 87' CRX it was stick shift. I don't own them anymore great cars have fun!

Sweet!.. I dont know much about honda's myself.. I'm VW and Subaru person. but ur ride seems sweet!...

one time I was riding my golf that's turbo'ed. and I saw a civic hatchback.. I would say around 94 model. I guess. ( it's suppose to be the lightest car there is??) anyways.. one day he (honda car) drove by me on red light.. I thought I can blow them by.. sheesh I was smelling his exhaust by then... I was wondering what he has under the hood.. he told me that he transferred the accord V6 engine in that civic.. I had hard time beliving him.. he wouldn't show me under the hood... but nodways.. I'm still pondering about it... is there such thing that V6 can fit under the hood of civic?

Just wonderin'

It may be possible with engine compartment modifications, but I never heard of a V-6 engine in a civic before. I have heard of H22A in a Civic which is a Honda Prelude engine. It's a dohc 2.2 liter VTEC at 190 hp with lot of low end torque. It gets a lot of torque steer with that motor.

ah! thanks for the info bruh. I was having hard time believing him since the 4 cycl barely fits in the car... o'well... thanks nodways...

next time I see that car coming around.. I'm gonna run away... lol. I dont want to be embarassed...LOL

Here's problems is the wires harness in firewall it will be a lot of work.

B series fits 89-91 CRX HF/Si but not sure about 87 and below..

but you can get a (89-91) SI motor. Single Cam so it will fit there. i used to have a b16A but b16 LOVES to eat GAS a lot :( yeah it's powerful but GAS.

I have a 05 Civic Si.. almost same power but mpg is better.

4-6k?!? allright..could repair all of them? i guess i can use my stock engines i need a advice. what's more i like to chat w deafs about crx hehe to be honest it's my first time using a crx.
isnt it ew4 engine saving a lot of gas? i bought $ 640 worth crx eh. oh yeah my buddy in montana he used to have a vtec on his crx i think it's 89? but mine's 1st gen. it's difficult. but i can use my stock engine it's better than nothing eh? i can use a hands for my crx. cuz it's difficult for me to fix it.. it will be my first time fixing a honda crx.

the only cheap upgrade will be a zc motor similar to the 86 to 89 acura integra. it will bolt right in but need to convert to fuel injection which is a lot of work.

hey everyone it's my mistake. it isn't ew4. it's a ew1. i dont get it. i still have a lot to learns... sigh.. i need suggestions about it and opinion too.

I have a Honda and I know them pretty well. I've told you twice that those engines are carbeurated and are a pain in the ass to convert to fuel injection. I've seen them happening to my friend I had in the past and he said they are a PAIN in the ass to work on.

Edit: JDM ZC motors are around 125-130 horsepower while the USD ZC motor is only 116 hp.

You will really need something "easier" and cheaper solution for you which is a ZC motor from the 86-89 Acura Integra or one imported from Japan. B series motors need more modifications and they are best drop in motors for 88-91 Honda CRX Si or DX.
