Meh, he's not that popular here and hardly the reason why we're staying afloat. Has more to do with the fact that Indiana elected officials are, for the most part, that rare breed of politicians: they actually care about serving their constituents. When you have reps who actually listen to their constituents, regardless if they are dems or repubs, government actually works.

That said, this state is still too socially conservative for my tastes. I mean, we've still got friggin blue laws prohibiting alcohol sales on Sunday. Are you fuggin' kidding me????

BTW, Indiana state and local income taxes are ridiculously high. I pay more in state taxes than I do in federal.

I'd say that limiting alcohol sales on Sunday is the least of anybody worries. Seeing that Indiana get out from under the red and pay of all of their debts and increase job opportunities, not to mention getting AAA bond rating, are nothing to sneeze at during these pressing economic times. They're ahead than most states.

I disagree, Limit alcohol sale on Sunday is part of religious law and it need rid of them.

Actually, blue laws illustrate a more fundamental disrespect for our system of government (separation of church and state) and for the rights of business owners. It is actually a contentious issue here, and many people would like to see it done away with, but the influence of the Bible thumpers is very strong in this state. Also, in these economic times, I don't know why the state would want to limit the amount of tax dollars that can be brought in on alcohol sales by prohibiting sales 1 day a week.

Now, Indiana might be staying afloat, but we've been hit hard at the manufacturing firms, and there are still a LOT of people out of work here. That article painted a very generous picture. I do think we're doing good compared to other Midwestern states, especially with our educational funding, but there's a lot left to be desired.

Yup, same in Alabama, alcohol sales are banned on Sunday but some counties can opt out to allow to buy in after 2 pm, especially Jefferson Co. is one of them.

It make me to want move back to Obama state sometime, lol.

Exactly. Not getting their precious beer on a Sunday ought to be the least of their worries. Nothing like planning ahead and get your sudsy on a Friday or Saturday. Really. It's quite simple folks. I'm sure people have died on a Sunday for not being able to buy beer on that day. :roll: It doesn't matter to me whether they can be sold on a Sunday or not. Not worth losing sleep over it come Sunday.

You have a choice to not buy alcohol on Sunday but some of us do want.

It is individual choice and you have no rights to dictate us because we are different.
