[(o)] Photo Challenge: Apples!

:wave: everyone! this is our very first photo contest! this is exciting ...

for this first meme, I have decided the challenge topic/theme; apples.
they are easy to find, right? (more ideas for theme/topics are welcome for next challenges!)

the deadline for this challenge's submissions is august 20th (evening friday).

the prize for the winner of the vote, for now, will win the position - guest judge, to help me to decide the winner of the next challenge. only one challenge until next winner.

for all those who wish to participate in this challenge (and participate fairly) please take a moment to read through the following:

1. each challenge you will have two weeks to submit your entry here.
2. try to have the image not too large or too small, at least approximately 4 x 6 resolution.
3. please do not have your entry in attachment. have it on a link, (photobucket, flickr, tinypic, etc.)
4. you can participate as long as you're an active member with at least 30 posts (no junk)
5. If you wish you may include a title when submitting your photo.
6. any participate that pick picture off internet or uses somebody else's will be automatically disqualified, and remove from all of challenges permanently.
7. if you would like to 'steal' a picture off this contest thread, do ask for permission from original poster first - the more you ask, more they will like you.
8. the submitted photo of the winner (and finalists) will be posted in a new thread within two days of the following weekend (by 22nd of august)
9. we understand your needs of watermarks, copyrights, etc. - please have your photo visible as much as can be or judge(s) will pass the most distracting photos.
10. I, freckles, reserve the right to decide the winner of the photo challenge and the forum admins and moderators reserve the right to exclude or remove any photo solely at their discretion
since this is the first one, rules may be edited, or added from time to time so please bear with me.

remember, submit only one photo per challenge, of your own, NO photoshopping please. that's considered cheating. and, your pictures; it's not all about quality, composition, creativity and efforts too! most of all, have fun! and enjoy the others. :)

And what about photo enhancement? photoshopping? that type thing? I dont but some do. :P

ncff, good question -- had hard time thinking if whether to allow that or not. what I am hoping is that participators will not enhance it too much and post a decent picture. otherwise they probably will not win for hurting our eyes lol. as for photoshopping, that shouldn't be allowed -- thanks for reminding me! going to add that into rules now.

authentic, if you took picture of that paper or of the screen, then yes, acceptable. which doesn't looks like. :)

I would agree with you because there are people who are great at photography and there are people who are great at photoshop (adding visual effect, etc.) and photoshop always win because they can make a cool pix. The exception should be that you can do the visual effect trick from your own camera, not photoshop.

I would say that it's ok to use photoshop to some enhancements like contrast, color correction, etc. There should be another challenge - "The Creative Photo Challenge" where you can do whatever you want with the photo you took like visual effects.

good size, just fine naisho. yeah, 800 x 600 is another way of saying.

(resisting so very hard not commenting praises on photos so no one feels hurt). :)

I don't like that photo. The whole thing make me feel more focus on branch than rather apple. Where is Apple??! Oh there it is.. it took me a a while to find one. That's prove, it sucks. I'm tell you, sir!

no prob. 2 weeks is a plenty of time. I have a few shots already. Different stuff. I am waiting to see if I can make some more shots tonight.... :D
 
Too bad apples don't grow here; I like the pictures of a natural setting better than ones of a store-bought apple. :giggle:

yes, that and or it could be anything! picture of a craft with apple-shaped paper/fake mini apples, drawing of an apple, or smashed apple(s), so many things. :)

I realized something ... seems some peeps here have been waiting to see others' work and try to top on them .. so maybe for next contest, have everyone PM or email me the pictures? and I'll sort up a new thread once deadline is over. what do you think?

(authentic -- you cheater!) :lol:

anyway, can't wait to see everyone else's! I, one for myself, wish I could participate in this. darn it. :)
