It can be what you want to share, or what news you heard about, or something unusual.

I'll start. Last Saturday, I met a good friend of mine downtown, and on the way, saw some insane action sitting on the #151 Sheridan bus headed to Union Station. Also picked up a strong smell of alcohol on the way, and let's just say that there were a lot of ladies on the bus, and leave it at that.

Maybe they were heading home from bridal shower party. If not for your thick eyelids, you might have had a chance.

No. They were partiers for St. Patrick's Day, and the dying of the Chicago River last Saturday. The traffic on Michigan was insanely crazy, and instead of a 60-minute trip, I ended up with a 90-minute trip to Union Station here in Chicago.

Wow! That's my news today that the CTA buses don't allow bikinis!

It's for safety reasons. And also to not attract unwanted attention while in transport, as well.

Where does it say bikinis/bathing suits aren't allowed on CTA buses?

Policies and Practices | CTA

Don't think it does, but most bus drivers don't want women being distracting or something. I've seen a few refuse to let bikini clad women on buses in the past, so that's what led me to believe it wasn't allowed, but then again, I have never seen anyone wearing bikinis when the #22 Clark bus is close to the beach, so maybe it is.

Update: You might see it under ‘ indecent exposure/sexual conduct‘ This generally goes for people who expose themselves, but this might also mean bikinis that show cleavage, but I could be wrong :dunno:

So it's a rule you made up yourself.

Indecent Exposure means publicly displaying portions of one’s body, especially the genitals, that are usually covered by clothing. Wearing a bikini/bathing suit is not indecent exposure.

Dare I ask: What would those "safety" reasons be?

Don't need to. Many bus drivers won't let them on just wearing bikinis-- only if they're covered can they come on-- not if they're not.

Nope. Pretty sure just wearing a bikini on a bus isn't permissible-- it has to be covered up in order to ride.

Well, you posted that it was for safety reasons, so I was wondering what those reasons would be. Just asking for you to explain what those safety reasons would be.

Other than it might be too cold for bikinis in Chicago right now.

It's best not to make up your own rules. The link I showed you doesn't even say anything on it. #3 is acceptable to me. The private parts are covered 100%.

I keep telling you-- it's not made up. They're pretty stern on letting bikini clad women on buses-- see it every year.

I just got off the VP with the CTA, and I was correct all along-- it's not permissible.
