Just wondering what kind of first Personal Computer you had.. :D

Mine was:
IBM PCjr
RGB Monitor
Processor: Intel 8088 4.77mhz
Memory: 128KB RAM
Operating System: IBM DOS - 2.10

That's exactly what my first personal computer was!

Even the keyboard was wireless!

Heh really? Awesome! I had some good stuff like learning BASICA, also playing games such as King's Quest and King's Quest II.. It was blast! :) What about your experience with PCjr?
 
My first PC is Mac Performa in 1993 for around $1,500 (in 1993 USD).

In 2007, It supposed to be $3,000 due inflation. :eek:
 
I first purchased an Apple IIc in 1984. It ran on Apple DOS. It was about 1,300 dollars. Gulps! It was 1 Mhz. ha ha. I was a teenager that got me excited to get one.

A few years later, I purchased an Erisson IBM PC.

I bought it at an auction and it was about 500 dollars. It was probably 300 Mhz. No color monitor - Grrr.
 
Ah yes, I remember my parents and grandparents pay together for worth almost 5,000.00!

My first OS is Mac OS 7.

I also experienced BASICA. I didn't exactly know how it worked except I had to have a special BASIC cartridge inserted in order to do BASIC. Basically, I used this computer for a few games that my parents got me... Ghostbusters, States & Traits, Body Transparency, and another game that was a Dig Dug clone (originally designed for the later IBM PC models).

I didn't play any King's Quest game until years later when my friend had a later VGA version of King's Quest and Space Quest.

The history of computers in my family goes... IBM PC Jr, IBM PC, a laptop with Windows 3.1, Macintosh (monitor & hard drive in one), Color Mac (monitor & hard drive separate), PC with Windows 95, PC with Windows XP (current).

My personal computer history goes... IBM PC Jr (from above), a laptop with Windows 3.1 (from above), Compaq laptop with Windows 98 (current), Gateway desktop with Windows ME (current).
 
My first computer in 1988 was a Atari 1040STF with a 320x240 color monitor. It could do 640x400 resolution but in monochorme. It had 1 MB of RAM with a 8 MHz 68000 processor, it had no hard drive.
Here's a picture of it, no I didn't take that pic. It had a Mac-like GUI desktop. In 1993, I got a Mac IIci (this was my first Mac I've owned)

My first personal computer was HP Pavilion 65? gray flat tower. It was slow, then I got IBM Nevista 20p something like that with Windows XP home edition almost four years ago. It works ok, but still has problems lately. I will get a new desktop with Vista Ultimate soon when my money permits.

Does Mac IIci (You means Apple IIci?) support online feature? like browse on internet.

I believe that first online feature was released on Performa with dial-up built-in, such as AOL and Netscape Navigator but NN isn't release until 1994 then AOL is only one choice until 1994.
 
Mine was a Commodore 64. In fact, I still have an extensive Commodore collection and have attended Commodore gatherings and vintage computer faires. It's a nice hobby, but these things sure are bulky... :)

My first PC was APPLE IIc exactly what on the picture. I used to have a really fancy Imagwriter II printer (dot matrix) that can print a picture. I was a good programmer back then. I remmy I made a program that make one of middle school bully go red LOL.:ty: I sold Apple IIc w/ all accessories & printer on Ebay for $118.

I remmy I took apart Apple IIc to clean dusts off. I spotted "Microsoft Basic" printed on Apple's mobo. What a conflict of interest!. If any of you happen to own Apple IIc, take it apart and look for it on mobo. You'll find it. Apple had been in secret affair w/ M$ since 1984 rofl.
 
No not at that time it wasn't conflict of interest, Steve and Bill gate actually did work together trying to come up with operation system. Bill Gate did not want to do anything with hardware while Steve Job wants doing EVERYTHING, software and hardware as one package. So, both disagreed and decided to apart from each other, Steve Job decided to start Apple business which makes hardwares and software, while Bill Gate started business as software only.

Hardware.........Xbox? Xbox360? Zune? webcam? keyboard? mouse? Fingerprint Reader? controllers? headsets?

Bill Gate stole Steve Job's idea for GUI then Bill Gates open his business.
 
You don't understand the point, is there any various of hardware made and sold outside of Apple? Apple wants everything to their business while Bill gate wants open market for hardwares.

Interesting!! Old computer pictures!!!

My first computer is Sony Vaio years later then give it to my daughter.. then Now its another my 2nd Sony Vaio Computer !!!!
