US Embassies around the Middle East being attacked!

I read that the movie was first posted to youtube in July. For some reason, it didn't rile up anyone until 9/11. :hmm:

Middle East is not as modern as America. but all it takes is somebody to instigate something.

Are we going to have to live under censorship? I understand Muslims are relatively new to democracy and freedom, but their next lesson is tolerance. Should we have stormed mideast embassies for 9/11? Their hostile approach is wrong and gets them in a worse situation than they were in before.

? Are you living under rock or something? The attack on US embassies are caused by Middle East people angry over that insulted Mohammed on YouTube.

I think the next lesson for us is respect. what filmmaker did was extremely disrespectful and he should not have done that for the sake of people's safety.

storm middle eastern embassies? good luck. that's if you wanna get gunned down by SWAT.

http://www.nytimes.com/2012/09/15/w...protests-over-film-enter-4th-day.html?_r=1&hp
Anti-American rage that began this week over a video insult to Islam spread to nearly 20 countries across the Middle East and beyond on Friday, with violent and sometimes deadly protests that convulsed the birthplaces of the Arab Spring revolutions, breached two more United States Embassies and targeted diplomatic properties of Germany and Britain.

The broadening of the protests appeared to reflect a pent-up resentment of Western powers in general, and defied pleas for restraint from world leaders, including the new Islamist president of Egypt, Mohamed Morsi, whose country was the instigator of the demonstrations that erupted three days earlier on the anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks.

Latest report, Black Flag flying over the Embassy in Tunisia.

Also the Taliban has brought a Sustained attack against a base in Afghanistan. 2 Marines have been killed. This is also the base where Prince Harry is believed to be stationed.

It's sad that after the lessons of 1979 our Embassies are not better protected. Embassies are U.S. soil. Raising a flag over U.S. soil is an act of way.

It is very sad to see American bases got attacked by Taliban.

Yes, we lost a important allies with Iran and I recommended you to look at film - Argo. This film is about situation with Iran in 1979.

Respect for all religions? Or just Islam? People have been making disrespectful movies about Christianity and other religions for decades and there was no violence or general public outcry.

It's too bad our host countries in the Middle East didn't defend our embassies with the same force we would use to protect their embassies over here.

I think Middle East started to hate us when we put Israel back on map with Jewish in charge after WWII. We backed them up when few Middle East countries attacked Israel in 1960’s. And then the hate from them grew when we meddle in Middle East over oil.

I guess those film people who made fun of their Mohammed are fucking idiots. Didn’t they ever learn from Dutch who drew Mohammed (which forbidden in Islam religion) that caused uproar by Muslim/Islam people? I think those people should be thrown in jail for causing turmoil in Middle East!

US couldn't do anything because filmmakers are protected under First Amendment.

I don't have any opinion about anti-Islam film.

as disrespectful as "Innocent of Muslims"?

beside - everybody hates others in a different way. in return for this or related, some people attack Muslim people.

do we want to see massacres?

These attacks have nothing to do with that movie.

I read different articles and they said it is possible to be related to film.

Yup, that what I was thought.

Bold - please don't do it.

We knows better than crazy protestors that attacked US embassies.

News reported that the extremists planned it to start the riots on 9/11 and they used the video to convince the people. Clever but evil!

Yes, and worse, especially since they get more widespread distrubution.

beside - everybody hates others in a different way. in return for this or related, some people attack Muslim people.
For youtube movies?

do we want to see massacres?
No. That's why the host countries should have been more forceful in protecting our embassies. They didn't, and that's why our four Americans were massacred in Libya.

I saw several articles mentioning (and some showing videos) how the Mohammed video was dubbed over. The actors said what they read from the script was completely different.

Furthermore, some US intelligence says that the people who killed Ambassador Stevens and others may have used the angry mob as a disguise. Or they may have intentionally shown the video to the people around them, then used that protest opportunity to strike. US intel kept saying the killers were really 'terrorists' not related to the upset Muslims. :dunno:

Islamic extremists. See this is the problem, the delicate balance, the people protesting are not the sum whole of the Muslim religion, or their people. They're extremists, zealots, there is no reasoning with a zealot. We have our brand of Christian extremists here in America....Westboro Baptists anyone? Granted they're not as violent, but they're just as loopy. You can't reason with them either, there's no arguing with crazy, you might as well try to convince the sky not to be blue.

I've seen the word 'apologizing" thrown around a lot. I don't think that's the right word. They're diplomats, they're being diplomatic, that's like....what they do. But I don't think pulling out completely, and punishing all of them for what small groups are doing is right. A lot of progress had been made, giving up now seems stupid. The world would be better off if we could bring these countries into the modern democratic world, which is why we were doing it in the first place.

I am not surprised you think that. we are not allowed to debate politics so I will not go into further.

what do you think what incited this?

What if they don't wanna reform their country? That's the biggest opposing position.
You can see a lot of public opinion from the european and asian countries that do not want USA involvement at all. Market is fine, but not government meddling. Especially with places close to socialist ties, countries like Russia, China, North/South Koreans, so on - they've had enough of the meddling with their affairs.
