Actually, it's Red Hat, bit different than Linux. :)

OS = Operator System that running for application of need. For example, you are on Windows that name of OS. There are three different Linux, I believe. I dunno 4? :dunno:

Well. It's pretty much almost same.

But I can't tell what's difference of them. I'm not quite experience with it yet.

But however in some way I can tell what's difference

They have kernel. People take it and make it their own O/S. People decided it should be freeware and open source so anyone can editing their own o/s

About Linux, the Linux itself is the UNIX-clone free Operating System. The direct competitor to Microsoft's Servers/Workstations. Linux can come in different flavors -- varying on how the directory tree, services and so on was designed.

Redhat is Linux, created by Redhat company to meet customer's specific needs.

There are another companies i.e.:

Slackware
Debian
Suse
etc...


There are SOOOO many different things that can come in Linux's desktop, depending on windowmanager (KDE, gnome, Enlightenment, WindowMaker etc...) and it doesn't matter whether it is Redhat or whatever.
