oh that explains. because I remember Mazola Oil as vegetable oil when I was little. good that they now have corn oil.

That was a long time ago. I only use Mazola Corn Oil, nothing else.

Vegetable oils are not the problem (corn is one of the vegetable oils) as long as they are not hydrogenated and thus containing trans fat. This is my understanding but you get so many conflicting answers when Googling it for instance that it is one of those things that there seems to be disagreement about.
