Arguing about the basis of morality when it comes to prostitution will not go too far. What I have realized is to look in the future and see how prostitution affects society. According to my three month research and realization, prostitution does not do any good for society as a whole. It actually creates more problems than good. I have found a link between prostitution and marriages. The news is simply not good (hint: it is detrimental to marriage). Even if we disallow prostitution, it will cause other issues such as the economy, crime rate, and a possibility of population morale worsening. This is why we need to have a sudden shift and/or change in the belief of the entire country. How we do this is all up to you guys.

All this debate is very interesting but the truth of the matter is that prostitution is just about the oldest profession so legal or not you will never stop it....maybe best for governments to gain whatever control they can, tho of course there will always be corruption and people who will use the system to their advantage...i.e. corrupt cops etc.

Well, this is women's and men's decision to choose to sell their bodies for money to improve their fianance. The reason the Government made prosiutiutes legalize because of health control. I would prefer to have government control on prositutues because it should be keep clean and less crimes.

I personally prefer to do something than sell my body if I struggle with money. Each person is different.

U know there is too many prostitues here are drug addict, need money to buy drugs so they sell bodies for that. Then we have so many children into sex slave around the world even here when they brought illegal aliens from other countries to sell their bodies against their wishes? No thanks, we do not want cheap women walk around in our neighborhood and ask my husband or my sons for sex and money. Sooo sick what they did to thier own bodies. We need to control sex abuse here.

Yea, that was I was thinking while reading thru the threads. It is illegal but did it stop? People will always find a way to earn money for sex and they dont give a rat's ass about morality or whatever. They want the money and they are willing to use their bodies to get that money so why not make it legal so that way it can be more controlled as other ADers stated?

Yea, no system is perfect as Bearbeauty said but at least the prostitutes can get taxed for it. :giggle:

I voted not sure cuz I have yet seen the results from prostitution being legalized so how would I know if it would improve things or make it worse? :dunno:

wouldn't legalizing prostitute encourage more child sex trafficking? I mean, people get bored with stuffs that is legal, so they start experimenting things that is illegal.

(kinda like Howard Stern. People get bored with him, so he has to keep being creative to keep his radio business going)

Even with prostitution being illegal, child sex trafficking is happening anyway. Now, that WILL NEVER EVER be legal! I dont think there is a correlation between adult as prostitutes and child sex trafficking.

Yes that true, I mean would it encourage MORE child sex trafficking (meaning will more children be kidnapped)? Would peple get bored legal prostitution and want to do something risky and new?

Yes the reason why we are for legal because of health control... They will do something when they find out that the people make illegal with drugs, sex etc.

Read yesterday paper, now its a man working in red light at Amsterdam's!!!!!!!!

Even if it's legalized and controlled.. there can still be issues.. No system is perfect.

There are issues with every job in the world... so nothing is perfect.

Even if you tax brothels, they could "pad the books" so they look like they're making less than they really are, so they can take more for the owners... it happens in a lot of businesses. It's called Tax Fraud.. And depending on the country, the taxes that are paid to the government could go to something else and not medical screenings..

And not every licensed brothel will have their prostitutes go for medical screening.. again, they could fake the documents saying that the prostitute went to a medical screening when the prostittue never went...

There are ways around the laws no matter how many arguments or reasons you give.. because people will find ways of getting around the laws.. I don't condone the actions, i'm just showing how it can be done.

Of course no system is perfect. No control is absolute. But some control is better than no control. The issue is whether making prostitution illegal reduces the amount of prostitution being engaged in, and the answer is no. It does not reduce the act of prostitution. It simply places it in an environment that increases the negative effects experienced by both prostitutes, their customers, and society as a whole. And padded books asisde, 50% of income being taxed is still more than 0%.

No correlation what so ever! Two completely different issues.

the brothels is legal in all Nevada.

It is currently legal in several counties in Nevada. Only the counties containing Las Vegas and Reno are currently not allowing brothels or prostitution. I did research a few years ago... never visited them, but their MB was a great read! As for my voting yes, I would only say yes to brothels out of the city areas in any state. No to street walkers, on call escorts, or brothels within 10 miles of housing. It could be a tourist destination in some rural areas with few other attractions.

The prostitution is currently legal in all Nevada state. Many counties containing cities in Nevada can allow brothels or prostitution, The prostitution and brothels can allow in Las Vegas. I already visited to there. I met people who were working at adult industry entertainment and business sex selling or escort agency. I have many experiences about the sex business. You should visit to Las Vegas and find out that brothels or prostitution street located in Las Vegas or other city.

I know I might be late for this thread, but I want to vote YES. Just if people don't do something stupid with prostitutions. Also I think illegalize prostitution are very relicious. For example: Would you kiss a old man for 100 dollars? HELL yeah! That's how prostitutions earn money.

Plus not only female are prostitutions, there are males too for gay men, or any man that like to fuck the anus or love to watch boy sucking. You might think I am sick but that's what prostitution is about. It's just like legalized pornography.

Even if it was illegal, what if one person ask me to have sex with her for 200 dollars, how can the police know about it? There is NOTHING they can do but finding the rumors.

So I vote yes, even I don't want prostitutions, I don't need them.

Agreed, been there before, many times for my family reason and sometimes for fun. Prostitution is very popular in Las Vegas, like if you walk and decide to push the button to allow you walk cross the street, you will notice there's LOT of pictures of prostitution on the pole. You can find the adversit everywhere, even in the buses! Or you can find a free prostitution ad book to find a prostitution just like you are looking for free house ad book.

Las Vegas is always always always a SIN CITY, even they almost approved marijunas!

I voted yes, and here are my reasons:

If prostitution was legal, we would be able to exercise governmental controls. In that way, we could ensure that, rather than working on the streets, those who choose this professon would be subject to medical screenings for STDs and other communicable disease.

Legalization would prevent the victimization of young girls and who have run away from abusive home situations by exerting controls.

Victimization of all women to pimps would be avoided.

Tax money would be obtained fromthe registered brothels, and used to ensure adequate medical care fro prostitutes.

Prostitution is the oldest profession known to man. It has always been, and will always be a way to employment. We will not eradicate it simply by making it illegal.

The choice to engage in protitution is a moral one, therefore, we cannot deem something illegal on a purely moral basis.

Legalization will protect those men who choose to frequent prostitutes from the spread of disease.

Since people will always purchase sexual services from prostitutes, which is better? A prostitute who works the streets, and cannot afford medical care to ensure that she is not spreading disease. or a licensed brothel where prostitutes are receiving medical check-ups every six months?

I'll agree with all you said and add one more: How do we seriously say something is wrong if paid for but right if free? ;)

Hmm.. JFK have sex with prostutute. that's how he broke his virgin.

i disagree with prosititute. so i voted no.

it is just a pure easy money.. some of them charge people $300 for one intercourse. and think about it if you had 3 times a day and theres 30 days in 1 month thats $27,000 a month just having sex 3 times a day for whole month.

thats nuts. an easy money method.

other thing i disagree is because having sex with someone you don't know or isn't in relationship is non-sense. its just my opinion. however laws changed might affect the society around you. for example if its legally then prostitute can be cheap like $25 per sex cuz theres so many of them and they're trying to make it cheaper so they will do theirs not others. which will lead society screwed up.. guys will go after a woman or women will go after a men.. maybe will be worse later on such as new term.. like have sex i'll give you a baby which will make a new illegal system so they can earn more money like when a men want a baby they had to have sex.. then take that baby instead of adopt a kid.

there's are always a huge fear factor of HIV, AIDS, disease, STD.. not to mention just that.. there's more that is pretty rare such as disease on mouth, such thing..

Excellent point! And, sex can be paid for in many differenct way. Doesn't always have to be cold hard cash!
