Yes, of course he would. Happily. This is the same guy who said he would offer free construction to a company that wanted to establish a gay bar that catered to Muslim men right next to the planned Islamic community center *near* (not directly at) Ground Zero.

Clever move.

Talk about a one-sided report. Who ever wrote it should be ashamed.
I re-read DC#197 three times and not once did I see the name Saddam, plenty of Iraq.
So there is no listing of Saddam poisoning his own people, killing off the opposition to his power nor to the destruction of Kuwait. As I said, such a one-sided report.

Especially when the opinion being quoted comes from one who has not bothered to inform themselves of the issue and is forming their opinion based on ignorance.:laugh2:

What I find ignorant is thinkiing Lowe's made any decision that didn't consider the long-term implications as to how they would affect their bottom line. Corporations like Lowe's don't look at how people feel about things. "Oh look, the Smiths are boycotting!" They look at whether or not they will see an increase or decrease in profits. The emotional reactions are weighted to determine profit, not whether or not someone protests.
  • If they think profits will increase by advertising on a show about Muslims, they will advertise.
  • If they think they will lose profits by advertising on a show about Muslims, they will not advertise.
They obviously felt that any backlash from their decision to pull the advertisement would not decrease profits as much as staying with the ads. Fair or not, that is the American way, making money.

Exactly....many of the same people who post on and on about businesses not caring about the people are now saying a giant business gave in to a tiny group.

I find it troubling.

SMH. You know what really is disturbing? The fact that AD can be so easily accessed by anyone, and things like this being posted have the propensity be generalized to the entire deaf population. Such a shame that truly progressive, intelligent, reasonable deaf individuals are subjected to that. I see now why so many believe that the deaf are overly concrete in their cognitive processes.. What a shame that the whole is judged based on a small minority.

Where did anyone claim it was not a part of their consideration?

We are saying that they are making suppositions regarding the majority of America based on a small group that does not generalize.

Such limited perception. That is not what is being said at all.

I doubt their research stopped there. I think they reassessed things based on a lot of feedback from other sources that remain unnamed. We will never know.

For those that feel it was a bad decision, make your voices and dollars heard; head to Home Depot or some of the other advertisers on the show. That is what gets heard loudest in boardrooms. $$$$$$$$$

Right. Why go over there and make a bunch of noise, whine, like petulant little kids when all you have to do is go to the nearest competitor's store and do your shopping there from now on?

Yes, money is the most important thing.

Nothing wrong with boycotting the store. I'm certain that is something that is already being actively discussed in several groups. However, there is nothing wrong with pointing out the inaccuracies of their suppositions, either. Far too many Americans have a stereotypical notion of what and who a Muslim is. Stereotypes need to be challenged.

Astonishing how some people encourage hate.

Because it makes for a more widely distributed message. Just because you have yet to find the courage of your convictions doesn't mean that those who do have such should not exercise it.

Right. The only exception he makes is when he does it himself.
