My father died from a front end collision in a Ford Escort. I am glad your result was so much different.

Glad you're okay. My car had damage similar to what you had and got it fixed under the insurance and it cost $4,300 to fix it in Dec 2007. I think if the damage is less than 70 percent of the value of the car, they will fix it...if it's over that and it will be totalled and have to use GAP/insurance to pay off the loan and get other car on my own.

I'm not sure about your car...depending on the value of the car and if you have collosion/comprehesive on your policy, if you don't have that...you're fucked and might have to find a junked car to switch parts and straighten it out which is a tricky part.

I bought a brand new Hyundai Tucson SUV in May. Two weeks later, I checked my Sidekick and bam! Rear-ended a cop. I was mostly upset about this brand new SUV being wrecked.

It's only in US but I don't know about insurance policies in Australia, every countries has different insurance policies.
 
I am just happy that you are ok, Jake. Like everyone else said...cars can be replaced.
 
Jake , glad to see you are alright and the car can always be replaced. I sure hope everything goes smoothly with the insurance companies.
 
Ouch! JClarke. Glad you are O.K.

I rear ended a car before looking for a quarter for A newspaper from the vendors at the red light. and bam. Hit the car in front of me. I just bumped the car. Did no major damages Insurance paid for the other car to have her bumper replaced. Mine did not have any damages but paint scuffed.
 
After the car was towed home, I saw a bad leak coming out down from the engine bay, but it seems that the radiaitor's fucked and needs a replacement.

Otherwise, I have been thnking, if the quote from the smash repairs is too much for me on the ford, I will, well, junk it and get a new car as a replacement for myself, since it may be 1 or 2 grand for the bumper I have to replace for the mini cooper. We'll see how this goes though. :|

Yeah, I would do the same thing. I don't want any new problems with the motor after it is repaired. If keeping it, then it could end up paying more money later just like buying a new car.

oh, I like the mini cooper which is a cool. I think that a Suzuki Cooper Crossover SX4 might be a little better than the mini cooper. I heard that Mini Cooper has many problems now.

Yeah but I believe my parents wont allow me that. :| becuase the ford car I have is a very reliable car.
 
If you are under the age of 25, the insurance rate will mostly likely be high. I think that you may buy used car or regular sedan or simple vehicle is cheaper in price for insurance then a sports vehicle or sports utility vehicle when you will be age 25. If you are under the age of 25, the insurance rate will mostly likely be high.

It is different down here and I am not sure what impacts with my age.
