you've tried pharmaceutical approach. medical approach. environmental approach. and perhaps divine approach.
since all above didn't work.... how about dietary approach?
I take vitamin C daily but not the ginseng.Hey, hey, Reba, relax, we'll get this licked.
Do you take enough vitamin C? It helps some. Do you drink ginseng? Ditto.
How about oatmeal baths?
Not yet. I'll try to look at them this afternoon.I don't presume to be an expert in the diagnosis and treatment of hives, mind you. Have you seen this site? Freedom from chronic hives: one mother's story: after limited success with medications, Diane Selkirk finally found relief from a six-year-long battle with hives. Here's how see did it - Better Nutrition Articles | Find Articles at CBS Mone
Or how about natural treatments for chronic hives? How to Treat Hives Naturally | eHow.com
It is almost heartbreaking to learn of your suffering. The best I can do is to send white light your way.
Hang in there, Reba, there is always hope!
It was suggested at a hives website.I've never tried out MMS.. what is your purpose for trying it out?
So far, I use whatever the VA and Tricare cover. Are you sticking only to western practices or have you thought about seeing alternative diagnosis from other approaches?
Lupus has been ruled out.I'm sorry that you're dealing with this. The doctors gave up? That's crazy. A lot of autoimmune diseases cause skin rashes. What kind of specialists diagnose autoimmune disorders? Have they tested you for different types of antibodies? Could it be lupus?
I know how frustrating it its when you can't get a proper diagnosis. It took me a year and a half to get a diagnosis, and I was going crazy! I hope that you get relief soon.
Lupus has been ruled out.I don't know about auto-immune diseases as a whole, but lupus is often diagnosed by a rheumatologist.
Yikes! It's too bad Dr. House is a fictional character, although I would be scared to death to be treated by him.
Lumbar puncture? No.Hopefully she doesn't have Lupus. :| I feel slightly odd talking about it in front of Reba..
Did you get a lumbar puncture?
Should be SOP for autoimmune diagnosis.
Done the dietary, too, although there's probably more than one way to do that.you've tried pharmaceutical approach. medical approach. environmental approach. and perhaps divine approach.

It is hard. I had hives when I was in various states, during restful times, during stressful times, avoiding the sun, bathing in the sun, cold weather, hot weather, etc.Right. But the thing is to find the one common denominator that is causing it all. It could be anything, just one thing overlooked. It can be a maddening process though.
Done the dietary, too, although there's probably more than one way to do that.
Lupus has been ruled out.
I'm glad, Reba. Best of luck!!!!
The problem with food allergies that's it's not just the processing and chemicals that could be the culprit. It could be the food itself, no matter how pure and organic it is.Dietary Approach is not the easiest one of all other approaches. It can take quite a while to find what works for you and what food causes what to you. Obviously - the human health is dependent on what you eat and it can take many years for effect to show. simply short - "You are what you eat."
This approach has been successfully proven in Asia and some in Europe. It is sad that the many Americans are still not practicing the natural & healthy way of eating & growing food that our ancestors have been doing for thousand of years
Americans are moving way too slow to regulate the food industry and to promote healthy eating. Europeans and Koreans have already taken legal steps to ensure higher quality of food and to ban the unhealthy way (such as outlawing trans fat). That's why European McDonald is much healthier than American McDonald. And Chinese people only buy the "fresh kill" at grocery.... not the pre-packaged stuff. That's why Wal-Mart failed in China.
Hey, speak for yourself!I hope you are keeping notes of anything new you try or observe, Reba, since goodness knows our memories aren't what they used to be.
Thyroid has been checked, yes.Glad that it's not lupus. Your doctors have probably already tested to rule out autoimmune disease for thyroid, etc.
The hives forum is a good idea. Information and support is important. Hope that you find relief soon!
Update:
I finally got an appointment at the VA clinic. July 23 I go to the lab to get blood drawn for testing. July 30 is my appointment with my primary care physician. I hope that she will then refer me to a specialist. We shall see.
Good ol' government health care.
During the past two days I've had one hour of sleep. I'll try to go to bed soon but I'm not really sleepy. Poor Hubby has been so tolerant of me and my emotional crying jags and forgetfulness. Sigh....
