this statement is misleading. all children develop language naturally, Deaf and hearie, the only thing that stops Deaf children form acquiring language in that time frame is hearie parents not signing with them, the baby and child will naturally sign.

yes the child is hungry for stimulation then why not stimulate with sign?
got o youtube learn signs, there is a mutli-million dollar industry for baby sign language right now that exists, of course it seems that only good for hearie babies, Deaf babies should get any sign

that limited time period is actually argued int he relevant academic literature,further its based on an ideological construct that has auricular and phonocentric languages as somehow superior when in FACT they are most certainly NOT

Since the article did not describe anyone getting "sued" I am assuming you meant used instead.

Yep, if he is going to be the CI police for the anti side I can be part of the grammar police (it comes naturally since my mother taught school and I even had a teacher that had us diagram sentences as early as in the 6th grade - school year of 1953-54).

why not teach both signing and speaking at the same time equally?

yes, human beings have that creative gift, that when they see a word that they know, and that word is misspelled or typo, that human being reading those words can instantly see the mistake.

to bad for you, and deaf kids the combined system of CI and its entities and professional apparatus do NOT agree with your sentiment.

i have always stated a bilingual approach, i did when i was a baby, i have NEVER stated otherwise on here. so p[ls.

but that doesn't mean speaking, you will gain better fluency with sign language as a first language then learning english, its cross fertilization of languages as your growing, that's why kids can be trilingual quad lingual at a rapid pace as growing..

the plm is CI, are not magic contrary to the marketing pitch, they don't come from harry potter. they are not a miracle from above contrary to the of cited claims of them beign miracles..., the oralist will parade those very very few oral wonders but fail to actually show the majority which are the oralist failures in that system, which usually get dumped to Deaf schools, after being denied sign language their entire lives, i witnessed this as do any Deaf who go to Deafie schools


its extremely important to have sign language right away with the deaf baby, not 10 years later not when they are adults they can choose, (yes indeed many do, but after a lifetime of isolation, and being robbed of their birth right) after a lifetime of being deprived..NO.

i have always stated bilingualism

learning sign right away as a first language will help gain another...english..

Cnice you have a large collection of these videos, and I am curious... does any show the struggles that these children go through? Or are they all painting so pretty and neat praising a product as a miracle, cure, and even magical?
