Georgia pediatrician arrested on child porn charges

IF you think georgia is a disturbing state check out New Mexico. It pales compared to what's happening in Georgia.
:)

It's very disgusting and disturbing to think of someone who's supposed to be taking care of children participating in a crime that exploits children. I'm glad they finally caught up with him.

Apparently, seeing a child's loin (during a check-up, of course) isn't enough. Disturbing.

*shrugs*

Regarding what? Childhood sexual abuse? Or on another level?

It's an entire universe unto itself. I'd prefer to live right where I'm at-Georgia. :ty:

I'm trying to appoint myself as the savior of the georgia folk...::whispers::

 It's not working I see.

:laugh2:

I could name off several other states too that are just as bad-well not the entire state we all can. Child sex abuse is rampant no matter what state it is and I do agree that there has been a spur of bad news coming out of Georgia as of late. I just posted a very sad story coming from my area about an abducted child that has hit close to home for me. ::shrugs:: You can blame Herman cain for that. The lady accusing him of having an affair with her is from Georgia so it seems reasonable that the news media would start reporting on news from Georgia. It's the way the media works.

The way you worded that was disgusting...
no, not you.

Would you be uncomfortable seeing a male doctor at the breast clinic? Why did that doctor decide to become an expert on breast? It's the same thing with male OB/GYNs. Ugh.
I refuse to see a male OB/GYN because it's just WRONG on so many levels.
He knows more about my vajay than I do? I don't think so!

That's a person opinion, and I certainly respect that. I personally don't care, and many of my female friends don't care either. What if you are gay? I personally am bisexual...so lol.

:) haha...so am I. I love it when I see my female OB/GYN....

I would feel uncomfortable even if I'm being examined by a female dr, and I'm a girl. It's not a win-win situation for me, unfortunately. Hey, that's just me. :hmm:

Well, technically, they would know more about anatomy than the average person would. Doctors often have to pick a field to become an expert in. It may be because they are interested in that particular area, or that there are better job opportunities in certain fields.

I don't see anything wrong with a man becoming an OB/GYN specialist, in fact, I have read a few statistics in the past that women often prefer a male OB/GYN specialist to a female OB/GYN specialist. Regardless, I don't think most people would feel comfortable with someone poking around at their genitals.

I've had male and female doctors perform my GYN exams. I prefer the female doctors, especially since the doctors at VA clinic aren't OB/GYN specialists. They are general practice doctors, mostly in their 60's. The only way to see a specialist is if there is a problem that requires one.

And to think he was a pediatrician at ACH? That's the states best hospital for children, and that tells you two things:
1. He's really that slick
OR
2. ACH looked the other way.

Both disturb me. Any time I take my DD to the doctor, I am ALWAYS present in the examination room.

To take it a step further, I think the last thing a rape victim needs to hear is a voice of a man. I could be wrong, but for a while I feel that in the beginning, only female officers and counselors should talk with her. Is that going overboard?

I think that's very reasonable considering what happened to the rape victim.

You are correct. I work on the SART (sexual abuse and rape team) team for the local hospital. We have 5 specially trained nurses with SANE credential (Sexual Assualt Nurse Examiner). They have had many hours of training in order to receive this credential. They are the only ones that do the exams in the case of rape or sexual assault, adults and children alike. The crisis repsonse ( of which I am a part) is also made up of all females. There isn't much we can do about the gender of the officer, but the officer is not allowed to question the victim at all unless one of us is present. I have asked more than one officer to step out of the room because the patient was becoming too upset.

I don't think that's going overboard. It should at least be an option for the victim to choose.

My childrens' doctor requires a parent or a nurse witness in the room during an examination. When my son had a physical done before school started he had to have his testicles checked for hernia. Standard check in a physical for boys. I was trying to be nice and not embarrass my son and I said I will leave. The doctor told me she has to have either me or the nurse in the room. My son said he rather to have me in the room. So I stayed.
