Georgia pediatrician arrested on child porn charges
Georgia pediatrician arrested on child porn charges - CNN.com

A Georgia pediatrician was arrested Thursday and charged in federal court with possession and receipt of child pornography, the FBI announced.

Yancy Craft, also known as Travis Mobley, was taken into custody by FBI agents in Columbus, Georgia, a city about 110 miles southwest of Atlanta. He'd moved there from Memphis, Tennessee, the federal agency said.

The investigation began in Tennessee, where Craft, 41, first became known by "undercover officers on the Internet (involved in) an interstate child pornography investigation," said the FBI.

The probe was then moved to Georgia "when it was learned that Craft, a pediatrician, had relocated to that area for an imminent job placement," the FBI said.

Craft could not immediately be reached for comment, and it could not be determined whether he had retained an attorney.

Child porn is some really scary stuff. People who delve into it need serious help. And anyone that molests a child needs serious jail time!

Georgia has been in the news a lot lately. They might want to check the water.

Former Ark. pediatrician facing child porn charges in GA
Former Ark. pediatrician facing child porn charges in GA - KATV Channel 7 - The Spirit of Arkansas:

ABC station, WTVM, in Columbus, GA is reporting that a former Arkansas pediatrician is facing charges involving child pornography.

Dr. Yancy Craft, 41, was arrested Thursday in Muscogee County, Georgia and charged with federal criminal complaint for possession and receipt of child pornography.

FBI Memphis Crimes Against Children Task Force flagged Craft after evidence came to their attention in an interstate child pornography investigation. They passed the case to Columbus authorities when craft moved to that area.

Yancy served his residency at Arkansas Children's Hospital between July 2006 and June 2009.

ACH says they had no complaints filed against him, and as a resident he always worked under the supervision of another physician.

The pediatrician also worked at Bentonville Pediatrics in Bentonville before he moved to Memphis. Bentonville Pediatrics had no comment, but did say they would cooperate with the investigation as much as possible.

Craft moved to Columbus, GA from Memphis where he was a practicing pediatrician. He had not yet set up a practice in Columbus.

According to the special agents, Craft also goes by the name of Travis Mobley.

Craft appeared in court Thursday afternoon where he plead not guilty. Craft's defense attorney claims that the charges do not relate to his practice.

We are following this story from WTVM and will have more on Channel 7 News at 6.

Georgia is a state, not a person with feelings.

And it is a state that has been in the news alot lately. It just seems to upset a few people when a true statement is made.:dunno2:

Who's picking on Georgia? I just sait it had been in the news alot lately. But according to you, someone is always picking on someone else. Your perceptions a distorted.
You forgot to add, "They might want to check the water."

It hasn't been in the news any more than any other state.

Also, the latest news story headline is misleading. Apparently this guy was in trouble for what he did in Arkansas and Tennessee, not Georgia.

Yep, check the water to see if there is something present that is causing this tendency to be in the news a lot lately. Would you have been happier if I had stated that it was due to the fact that all Georgia residents are bat shit crazy hillbillies?

No matter what I say, you will find some objection to it. I hope you find it entertaining and worthy of the time you devote to it.

Last time I checked, lots of people live in Georgia, and those people have feelings.

And I am certain that they are all so grateful that you have appointed yourself their savior. What would they do without you?

Perhaps, perhaps not. Maybe it's just that the headlines coming out of Georgia are more disturbing.

He did the same thing in Georgia as he did in Arkansas and Tennessee. The title is not misleading at all. He was in Georgia at the time of the arrest and is facing charges there.

What a shame...sickening!
