Brag about your car's miles!

My 97 Civic EX had 279,000 miles when I traded it in for my Civic Hybrid.

My '02 Ford Ranger has 95,500 miles on it. (about 92,000 of it is my dad's commuter miles, while I got the car Aug. 1st, and drove across the East Coast, getting it to where it is now.)

and My previous car, an 1992 Cutlass Ciera, Oldsmobile, had 196000 miles. (Sold it a few weeks ago for $500) lol.

I have a 1991 Honda Gold Wing SE and it has a little over 125, 000 miles and my trike conversion guy said that if I take real good care of the bike, the trike (not yet converted) will run 300--500K miles! I was impressed but that remains to be seen. What do you think DieHardBiker?

My honda has approxiimately of 35K as of today. My car will get oil changed and checked up if any problems arise or not...I hope not!

Eh, yea 400k was the highest I hever heard and seen. 500k, I am not sure but it is quite possible.

believe it or not, carbureted version today STILL can hit 300k miles. They do still make them, not all vehicles have that, anyway... the real reason behind the longnevity is what? Better QA system today at manufacturing. They are now much more picky about the quality. Whats more, today machinist depends on computer to cut precisely, in return of accuracy, they last much longer! It is all manufacturing quality that is involved. 30 years ago, in machine shop, they were doing "good enough", that is why they don't last long.

yep today's engine can last that long... while old carbureted engine in the early years lasts about 100K or less. Since today's engine have computer control and fuel injected that help last much longer. Just like Sablescort said.. change oil, tune up, etc keep proper maintenace will help you keep it running longer longer. If neglected, it will give you a lot problems...

Also Diesels are known to last forever to million miles...

My grandma

My grandma has that car is towncar from 1988 to present and drove only 87,000 miles... Good condition.. A/C run good all is good.

699420?! I checked the auction page and sure as hell there aint a close shot of the odometer. Only speedo shot of the bike is far that its hard to read the odometer to prove the 700k...Could be a a typo eh?

but then its peanuts compared to Irv Gordon's 1966 Volvo with over 2 million miles on it...

Irv Gordon

My car is only at 5% of Irv's mileage as of today (135,500 miles) and I just had the oil changed!

Correct, but now the latest news I heard Irv Gordon's Volvo hit 2.5 million miles and who knows if it ever will reach 3 millions? :dunno:

P.S the seller corrected the mileage to 69,942

Correction, your right! It was typo, the actual miles us 69k not 669k.

I had a 1993 GMC pickup that ran 178,000 miles but its transmission broke down and sold it out. I wanted to make it over 200k.. darnit so close.

However, my wife has a GMC Sonoma over 171,000 miles on it and engine is still solid - incredible, but its brakes bad and few problems. We abandoned it for a quite while and hope we can fix it and try to pass 200k to make up our final goal before get rid of it. But will we, duh?! Time will tell soon. If so, I will let ya know.

By the way it has a Vortex V-6 engine and 4x4 but disconnected its 4x4 to save gas and no need it where we live (FL).

Now my Grand Cherokee has almost 118k and still runs good. In less than a year later we have to trade Sonoma for a new pickup for my wife.

My husband just bought a year 2000 Corvette -- black -- with only 7,500 miles on it. It has been sitting in someone's garage. (The guy had two Corvettes). My husband thinks he has died and gone to heaven!
