Same here. Better than have Internet Security and SystemWorks. Much light and dont take much performance or memory. There's new 2.0 version I might try out. Only big down is it dont have manual antivirus file scanning I need most on firefox.

Hmmmm... interesting. While surfing around the internet, it seem that Bitdefender is the best antivius and won the award Antivirus of the year. NOD32 and Kaspersky came 2 and 3. But can anybody here clarify that? I'm going for the suite pack so i wanna know which one of these had the best detection rate and low system resource and protect real time. I use reformat my PC and I know know which one to decide.

I agree NOD32 is very good and I use them after I dumped Kaspersky. I think Kaspersky is good but it takes a long time to scan the entire hard drive. I prefer to use NOD32 since it's written in assembly language which makes it run much faster and better memory management. Other programs are written in C++ or higher level languages which makes it little slower and eats up more memory.

All anti-virus reviewers have different opinions.. some say Kaspersky is better than NOD32 and they all have different tests which gives different results. There's no straight answer which anti-virus is best for you since everybody have different tastes or preferences. Some like cool GUI, others like security features or speed of the scanning for viruses.

Avast and AVG are good FREE anti-virus if you can't afford to buy NOD32, BitDefender or Kaspersky.

I tried the Nortons 360 14 day free trial... The trial ended on day 6 and I sent complaints to Norton and no answer. And Nortons 360 was a computer hog using a lot of the cpu resources. I went back to my ole company .. All is well.. Depending on your computer system, match it with the appropiate antivirus software resources...

Actually, it is not always a good idea to leave old software running. It will not trace any new file that has not updated info in it.

Many companies rather you to buy their new software with completely new info in it to find any updated virus files. Yes, it is rip-off. Nothing we can do about it.

Let's say your software has a version 1.x. It can update the new info all way up for free like this version 1.1, 1.2., 1.3.... Until become 2.x which means that you have no choice, but to buy a new software. i.e. 2.x, 3.x, 4.x, etc...

Some of you already know about this one so let other people know, too. :)

I just noticed the post and thought I would give my opinion. I use pctools anti-virus software which is free along with their threatfire program which works in a different level of the anti-virus program but still works to detect against threats. I have used several anti-virus programs out there and am currently satisfied with what pctools has. I don't know if it is considered the best but I like it. I even use their free firewall program. Thought I would mention it since no one else mentioned pctools at all. Hope this helps.

Best free anti-virus program is AVG, I had downloaded and install it, it work so great after found some of infected files then and removed it.

lol, XP is really security holes, it would still get infected files to hidden without let you know, even don't matters if you don't go to social networking or porn website.

When infected files are hidden, it does slow Safari down, it took few minute to open the Safari and load the add/remove program is so slower, it all solved after use AVG and scanned then remove the infected files.

It doesn't interfere with games after use it, just need finish the scan before play games, unlike Norton and McAfee.

I use AVG 8.0 and Spybot Search & Destroy and Adaware 2008. Those are my weapons :D

I would like to say Norton sux for real. I would not recommend Norton to my customers. I recommend AVG, Spybot, and Ad-Aware 2008.

Beware of Symantec programs like Norton 360. My Norton 360 disabled itself after subscription is expired today. It got me real pissed off. Not good strategy to get customers pay to renew the subscriptions. No way to pay $70 to renew mine. I'm installing different AV program for free right now.

I wish all governments need to get seriously sense of internet security and tough up on the internet criminals.

Try moving back the clock on your computer before updating your Norton anti-virus software. For instance, if your subscription was for October 2008 to October 2009, then move the clock back to any day during that time period.

I don't know if it will work for the current version, but I do know it worked for the previous versions. :)

avast! best anti-virus program i've used. haven't had any problems so far, and it seems to catch everything, and best thing about it, it's constantly scanning... never stops scanning.
