Gas is going to be 4 a gal this summer

Some places maybe. We can get it for 2.85 in some spots and I believe it is even cheaper in SC.
It was $2.79 last night.

it's fortunately, I just move to new home that is only 2 blocks to train stations. No more worry about damn gas when I go to work. I'll drive my car when it's really necessary during my errand.

pacman.. care to explain why you blame bush? she live in germany.. and it is more than double our price in US?.. is it bush's fault?

Are you going to criticize on my opinion then heck off!!!

USA and Europe are totally different, it was from gas tax, that higher than in USA does.

Said enough!!!

Living in NYC, LA and SF will be solve your problem.

Yupp true. Sometimes I wish I live there.

Liebling:-))) said:
A lot of people use bicycles to town instead of car to get something small. I'm one of them... If I need something big like big shopping for foods and drink then use car... if small then use bicycle.

More I am thinking about it, the more I need the bike. But I need car to drive across the bridge to Portland where I work, so I am stuck with the car :(

Excuse me, You can't criticize on my opinion, that other word for disagree but opinion is never to be wrong, though then get fuck off from me.

I can blame on Bush if I want too, none of your personal business.

In my state, the bicycles are not permitted on freeway.

I need car to drive on freeway to my job because of 15 miles then bicycle is no benefit for most people.

Yeah, you need a car to go to your work especially on rainy days, hot and cold days.

I would not want to ride my bike on a freeway. I would rather to go on a bike trail along the highway which is fine with me. I may think that it could be a problem because of the air pollution from the highway when I go on a bike trail. Unsure...

My local gas station now is $3.15. I would love to get a truck hybrid, but it is way too expensive. I hate all car dealers.

It's been around $3.25 for a couple of weeks at Arco for 87 octane but the big boys are getting $3.35--$3.38....

...I like Gitgo, and it is a good company. (It's from South America.) They helped some poor people in the U.S.A. for a better gas price.
Do you mean Citgo? How is it a "good" company? Hugo Chavez is a dictator who stole the oil companies and refineries. What "good" thing has he done for you?

Yep, you are right on target there about Chavez. He is a world class idiot and a lout at that. That bit about the poor in the USA is a cynical ploy to gain a "positive" image. If he had it his way, the USA would be no more. I'm absolutely amazed how people get "suckered" by such things. Truth be told, he simply wants power and uses the "poor" to advance his agenda.

Chavez is a dictator. The real problem is that he has to deal with his people in the country. There are so many problems, and he has to get the most money to help his people in order to sell gas to foreign countries especially USA. Some programs like health care were not successful. He never gives it up. There are so many frauds that work for the government, not Chavez's, because millions of people are so poor especially uneducationed people. He sent them to prison, and there are more come out more problems. It is just worst than our country. He wants to clean up the system, and he has a long way to go to fix it.
He has some friends from another countries, and they told him that they found out that Bush sent the SEAL in order to kill him because of the oil issue. Somehow, the SEAL's plan was aborted probably due the gov't leak to the foreign gov'ts. That's why Chavez was so angry about Bush.

Don't forget that we have public interests. It is worth it for us to buy his gas for a better price.

well gas here in hawaii did enuff for me, $3.50 on the kona side, and 3.25 here on the hilo side so we're gonna be going to 4 bucks before summer's here!

A couple of things and I'm stepping out of this off-topic discussion.

1) **Snort** Clean up the system?!? Look through the veneer and you will see what he is doing. As far as I can tell, he is making things worst and the only thing that keeps him in power is the oil money. He can "bribe" off the poor with promises and programs designed just for them while killing off the rich and middle class. It has never worked in all of history and it will be his downfall. I agree with you that corruption is a problem but it is a serious problem throughout the region not just Venezuela. The poor are no more immune to it than the rich.

2) Anybody who believes any assassination plot against Chavez from the USA needs to consider the source. It makes for great paranoia theater in Venezuela (lies for mass consumption). It doesn't solve anything and makes things very messy with them (and others). Everybody would definitely believe we did it and no matter how hard we try to convince the world otherwise, we would be the "bad" guy even if we had nothing to do with it. It is simply not worth it...period.

3) He prefers that the world should pay at least $100 a barrel as he believes the oil producing countries have been robbed by industrialized countries. Meaning he feels that for what we get in exchange for oil far exceeds the value we paid for it. If you want to pay say 4.50 to 5.00 for gas, be my guest. What is interesting is that Chavez may have the upper hand as it is estimated that Venezuela has even more oil than the Saudis. Of course, Venezuela's oil is the harder to extract kind and requires more capital investments to get it out of the ground and refine it.

I will admit that point #3 may not be a bad idea as that would finally get us really serious about switching to alternatives away from oil. If it takes a swift kick to our rears to get going...sobeit.

I remember that you thought of Ronald Reagan, one of great president. Hate to tell you that his last two years on his last term, the gas have raise pretty much than $2 per gallon. So, suppose you blame him also? ;)
