Offer money for just tickets to get other plane and also offer them free to choose anywhere is a joking. I the parents for reject their offer. They are not stupid... I beleive that they will go to lawyer to claim the money refund and plus value their increase stress and time loss. It will cost AirTran more than just lousy $595.80 for that just tickets.
I know from my experiences that NEVER accept their offer if you are unsure but go to lawyer....
You can image if you were in their shoes... They have to wait for long hours for get other plane... and plus get their cases return from AirTran airline.
How many hours they lose their value time and increase their stress? For that just lousy $595.80 for only tickets...
Oh, if we are talking dollars and SENSE, then let’s try this on for size: If the couple’s unruly child caused a severe delay, which made multiple other passengers miss their connecting flights, and each of those individual’s sued the airlines for indulging a couple who is incapable of controlling their child….hmmmm I think if I were the airlines, I would simply refund the $595.80 and say “good riddance”.

That's problem... I beleive it would be okay if stewardess let her sit on mother's lap and understanding that a little girl need mother's attention to calm her down...
That is the problem, there are FAA regulations which require children old enough to have their own seats for safety reasons. Plus, FAA regulations have been even more strictly enforced since 9/11. The airline attendant can’t discriminately choose which regulations to follow and which not to, otherwise the airline could be severely fined much more than a measly $595.80.
I can assure you that if this had been in an automobile, a cop wouldn’t hesitate to give a mother carrying a child of any age in her lap a ticket. It just isn’t safe and one of the airlines top priorities is to maintain that all passengers reach their destination SAFELY.

The parents tried everything to calm her down...
Obviously not if the child was climbing under seats and hitting her mother. A good spanking sounded in order.

Why can't stewardess let her to sit on mother's or father's lap...?
*see above answer*

Did you know that the flight atompshere scare a lot of toddlers/children...? It affect some of children's ear infection as well...
And why should all other passengers have to suffer as well? If a young child is incapable of flying, then take a damn BUS!

where is their value time loss and stress?
Just think of the stress they put on all the other passengers and flight crew. Who is going to reimburse all of them????

It has nothing do with parental discipline... Each child is different... Some children are fear and panic when they see "odd" atmosphere when they join for a first time is normal...
This wasn’t her first flight.

most young children get scared that normal, so I don't blame the 3 years old girl for crying,
I don’t blame the child for crying either, I blame the parents for not keeping their child in her seat for takeoff. And to allow a child to hit you? Ppffftttt

My 12 years old daughter cried alot when the plane landed down few weeks ago, because of ear pressure, I can feel it for the FIRST TIME, oh boy its real hurt - Before that I don't have this problem - strange huh!
The best way to avoid the pressure is to chew gum when taking off and landing. For small children, give them a bottle of juice, milk, or water, which they must suck. The movement of the jaw allows the ears to equalize. And, if you are really having problems, try the valslava maneuver.

Its important to remember everyone entitled to a peaceful journey, not matter if its a crying baby or drunk or hijacked passenger, you named it.
I agree. Some people have no respect or courtesy for others. I am glad you were an attendant parent and respected those around you.
