What is going on at Gally!!

Gally is ALL over the news here in Washington. Channels breaking in about the protest.
 
Not surprised... I hate Jane, of course and she need kick out from president office.
 
Go to ridorlive.com and you will find links to blogs of Gally students who will give you their perspectives of this protest.

Jane was raise oral, and learned ASL in her late adulthood years, Those deaf students who stick with their little world, its own unique culture "Deaf Culture" believes that a President of Gally should be a deaf person who shares the same beliefs, values, and language which that would be strong ASL as them! Jane is not one of them, so they don't want her to be the President of Gally. The whole thing is so pathetic and embarrassment to all the deaf people out in the world. That is one reason why I don't hang out with people who are so self-center, spoiled, it's either my way or the highway. :roll:

I'm so glad I decided not to go to Gally for college. I don't have the time nor the energy to deal with their bullshit.
 
I am not going to Gally anyway. Once touch there many years ago. I am currently part time student in college. Better than 2,000 miles.
 
I thought students should focus on education than rather focus on pride deaf for Gally.
 
I remember I had to deal with this during my MSSD days on Kendal Green.

I come from an oral background and I don't like being crucified for having such a strong English "accent". I don't mean British English either. Accent isn't exactly the right word but it's the best I could come up with.

I don't think I'd want to deal with this again.

College campus is not far from my home and is quiet place for students to study and focus on their educations. I have been to college few times and they seem very nice. There will be more deafies to come!

I know what you mean. I can sign good, but I'm not very ASL. I'm more English than ASL. I've been crucified and rejected at WSD (Wisconsin School for the Deaf) for it too and I tried so hard so many times to fit in and just could not. I finally gave up when I was 18. Now I am just myself. And I now have found other deaf people who are more accepting of who I am. :)
 
I spoke to a friend of mine who works at Gally. She told me that the students threw apple juice and spit on King. Also told me that there were feces on SAC floor because they didn't want the Board to change the name of the building of SAC from SAC to King University Hall something like that.

I heard it too, but I think it is not true. One story said orange juice, another said water, another said... My understanding is nothing was thrown at them.

I understand that they are upset and not happy with King, but throwing apple juice and spitting on him? That's too far. And shit on the floors? omg...it's wrong. It makes the rest of all us deafies look BAD.
