Tom Selleck accused of stealing water during drought

What will the mob demand.....execution!!!!
How dare he!!!!!?

Apparently ferraris need a lot of water to keep cool

The news reported he was using the water for his pool and that still is wrong stealing water no water what he is using it for.

Absolutely zero of the articles I've read, and the link you gave, mentioned that the water was for his pool. That doesn't even make sense. He wouldn't need to haul thousands and thousands of gallons of water repeatedly to fill his pool, over 18 months, unless he had a really leaky pool.

This article mentions how his area only has well water and many of the wells went dry. http://www.latimes.com/local/lanow/la-me-ln-tom-selleck-water-complaint-20150707-story.html Not having any water to drink, bathe or wash dishes/clothing in is rough. That doesn't give him the right to take water, however.

See those grasses are very green? Clearly he's been watering his ranch, not really intended for the pool.

if water authority been taking it over to him then they as bad...it is selfish but if he got farm avocados then that different

Grass in such areas should not be used. It is such a waste of water and land. It could be better utilized as a garden for things that grow best in those conditions, so as to minimize impact on water. What if this is not the full story? Maybe he has found that his well has been showing signs of dropping levels for a few years, and he's trying to protect the viability of his property (in other words, without water, what's the point of living in the house?)...

Get ready for a mass migration out of California in the next five years.

that good point grow something else bit silly he not thought to do it....Have all people with pools empty them.
I watch documentary about water in this region some company is farm it off bottleing and selling back to the community

And that is still is wrong having green grass when there is a historic drought , I was going by what I heard on the news . The reporter said he was stealing water to fill his pool.

Then, there's this:

Official: Water Tom Selleck accused of stealing was paid for

WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif. – An official says water that actor Tom Selleck has been accused of stealing from a public hydrant in dry California was legally purchased.

Jay Spurgin, public works director for the city of Thousand Oaks, tells the Los Angeles Times that the water was paid for.

Records show a construction company received a city-approved water meter on the hydrant two years ago.

It’s unclear if Selleck or his employees bought the water from the company or another source.

The Calleguas Municipal Water District in Ventura County sued the “Magnum, P.I.” star, alleging that a tanker truck filled up at the hydrant and took it to Selleck’s 60-acre ranch more than a dozen times in the past two years.

The district announced a tentative settlement with Selleck on Thursday.

Selleck water was paid for

I wish reporters would get all the facts before reporting a story , they were all gung ho about this. But I still feel it's a waste of water keeping your lawn green is drought as bad as California is having . I had to be very careful about using water when I lived in Northern California so I learned not to take water for granted .

@ Foxrac they might have to start using ocean water and remove the salt from it. I know the cost of products is getting higher all the time. I wonder if people will believe in
global warming now.
