What are you thinking about Part VII

Trying to figure out why my AD account has suddenly started acting funny. Earlier this afternoon, I saw 7 likes, but only one showed up, and then just 15 minutes ago, five more showed up, all from earlier tonight. :squint: Something's not quite right.

Yeah , there are still some kinks that needs to fixed , I am having trouble using my 'like' button . It will not work , I have to click on it 3 or 4 times before it works .

Ah, okay. However, it's not you, though. I got likes from people individually, and then suddenly they get bunched together like what happened earlier today just after 1 this afternoon and 45 minutes ago. Not sure what's going on, though, but I'm confident Alex is working on the issue.

We went to look at cars tonight. Nissan cars are usually rated pretty high for reliability etc. So I test drove a beautiful, fully loaded, Nissan Altima. Loved it!!! Came home and checked consumer reports and the rating for that car was "poor". Toyota Camary is rated the best buy so I will check them out too, they might be too small for us. Interested to look at the Chevrolet Malibu they have pretty good reviews for reliability but the best reviews for how quiet the car is, how smooth the ride is etc.

We have a Nissan Cube. Not a luxury car, but it is quirky, comfortable, and my favorite car ever. When we were in for routine maintainence, the dealer told us you never see them on the lot as they sell the minute they arrive.

Plus we love Nissan as our dealer sold us the car purely by email and text, including trade in. Not once did we have to go try to negotiate by speaking with them.

I'm glad you like your car Botti. I found out today that if I work with my auto insurance company AAA they will find me the car I am looking at for the cheapest price. I just have to find what I am looking for first.

The Nissan Altima we looked at tonight, we looked at it years ago because of their high ratings. Nissan had a full redo on their designs and now their cars are rated very poorly for the Altima.

Funny...I think my hubby is putting off the new car purchase until my birthday so he can say he bought me a new car for my birthday. HAHA

I am thinking about hitting the bike path near the beach this weekend. The last time I rode it, it was FUN!! I wanna do that at least once more before the summer ends. That, and maybe visit Lincoln Park while I'm at it, since it is on the way. There's the Conservatory there, as well as the Lincoln Park Zoo.

Chevy Malibu is a good car it is pretty quiet and rides good and is really comfortable only thing I don't like about it is that it doesn't have as much power as my truck does. This pic is a 2012 Malibu sitting in my driveway with my old blazer behind it.

What size engine does your Malibu have in it? I think I read it has different options. I definitely will not go back to a four cylinder. The Nissan Altima had a 6 cylinder and it drove very very nice. It was fully loaded with amazing additions. But burst my bubble when I read Consumer Reports.

The Toyota Avalon is rated as good but they start at $40,000
It's been a long time since I bought a car made in the good old USA.

Probably just a hiccup on the server side.
I know that sometimes the like link doesn't show up on a post immediately after it is posted or it may not be completely active- I've had that happen to me where clicking on the link didn't register so I figured the post may have just been posted/sent.

Sometimes people will like then unlike a post so you may see a notice about it but the like doesn't show that person liking it. Sometimes too the transmission is just plain slow depending on how busy the server that AD is on is. I've seen that happen many times on two other forums I'm a member of (one of which is on vbulletin like AD is).

Alex would have to be aware of said issue before he can actually..'work on it'. Some things don't even need to be worked on.

I have a Nissan Sentra. Talked with the dealer via email when I was shopping for a car 5 years ago. I was looking for a blue car, on the lot (did not want to order one). He had a Versa and a Sentra. I test drove the Versa then the Sentra and decided the Sentra was more comfortable for me (perhaps I didn't have the seat in the Versa set just right). I've been happy with it.

Thinking how my eReader breaking down has resulted in a benefit. I asked my daughter if they could send me the iPad they offered me sooner rather than later (or when I go out there). They sent it today. But with the holiday weekend coming up, I probably won't get it till after Labor Day. Still plenty of time to learn it and put my books on it before my trip. Also found out it has 200 mb FREE data from T-Mobile. I wasn't even sure if it was one with cellular.

Thinking where is Caz12? She hasn't been here since 8 12 14 after saying she had stroke symptoms.

This worries me.

I noticed that, too. I have been wondering where she's been. Hopefully she's being well taken care of.

Thinking how silly I am that I can't stop crying about my car. Hubby went to the repair shop to clear it out. It's gone now..... So many good memories in the car.

Sorry to hear that, I remember feeling pretty sad when my dad's old Honda Prelude hit the afterlife. It was such an awesome car and it practically purred through my childhood.

Our jumping around weather.

It had been cooler than normal and then last weekend just as we were trying to have the 25th Anniversary of our Balloon Fest (hot air balloons) the skies opened up. Some did fly Friday evening and then the Balloon Glow that evening was cancelled. Saturday morning's flight was cancelled but the Balloon Glow did go on even though the wind was higher than they wanted. The craft fair, kids games, etc. and musical acts did go on with some moving where they set up in order to be under a tent. Food venders were also open. Then later Saturday night the skies completely opened up with the park getting flooded from at least 3.5 inches of rain. EVERYTHING was cancelled for Sunday.

It has been getting hotter and hotter ever since. The latest is:

Dangerous heat index! Actual temperature was 102 at 3:25 pm then the reading at 4:25 pm was 94 with a "feels like" temp of 112. I am about 60-80 miles east of St. Louis, MO depending on where you measure between in the two places.

I had a great birthday lunch with my mom and dad. It's not my birthday til September, but is 3 run close together, all within 3 weeks.

The last few days have been warmer than usual, but with today's fog, it was much cooler, and nice and breezy. Tomorrow is supposed to be back in the 80's.

We have six family members with birthdays all on August 21st. Plus three more in August. Mine is early September and by then I think everyone is pretty much partied out.:giggle:

I'm thinking that it's good my hearing aid is still working. It went out for a few minutes and I thought I might be it for it. So whew!
