Hate new cars

I am sure you are referring the time when it was on the floor and operated with the left foot.

My old Nova have a hand brake under the dash just next to the steering column. One ugly design ever I see is Jaguar the hand brake is stuffed in between driver seat and sill (bottom of the driver door) that your left hand on the hand brake. Tight space.

I have never been so disturbed.... Okay, well yes I have... but I can promise I won't be having any sexy dreams tonight after seeing that.... ^

E-brake in old days really means Emergency brake, used when primary brake fails, it can be pedal or hand type. Older cars looks like have 4 pedals, while newer, just three due to relocation of E-brake to middle of front seat.

Your not old enough if you can't recall high beam switch location that used to be at, years ago.

I was not exist that time but I knew about that. It was for GM only, I believe it. It was not smart design due wet shoes or mud from heavy rain or snow then press to the high beam switch then build up corrosion so easy. Again, Not friendly for clutch pedal.

people call it emergency/e-brake for that? eh? we call it handbrake.

Too long words. E-brake is much short and fit in the comment in the computer system for create the RO.

Not all trucks and vans as Caravan, RAM, Silverado, etc does not have handbrake.

Right. Often I see the RO invoice papers that states "E-brake", is because the E-brake is easy word for people or service managers to speaking or addressing the E-brake issues. Mechanics/technicians still use E-brake...

Right, Funny thing, I was "sign" to hearing coworker for e-brake (sign as handbrake) to cable test for small straight truck due drum got locked up. So he did and I found that e-brake cable got seized due rust. So I took it out and send it to part dept to order it for next day. Later, hearing coworker typed notepad at the computer to communication me. He said straight truck doesn't not even have handbrake, it's pedal. I said, If I "sign" as brake then it's brake. Don't want to confused between e-brake and brake. He said good point. Just happen today.

So I still sign as "handbrake" as e-brake to technicians.

Yeah, don't forget shit evolved so much since 1880, as compared as during thousands of years before 1880. Unreal!

BTW, I used E-Brake twice (Both Pedal and hand) when my primary and secondary brake failed, and I was in heavy traffic. If it were not for that E-brake I will be in collision for sure. Both are on automatics I had to downshift to first gear, and applied E-brake as fast as I could and made it.

My experience is that it is SAFER on foot as E-brake compared to hand brake in middle of console. Know why? One of my pet peeves about E brake as handle is that sometimes my wife or my friends put shit on top of handbrake making it more dangerous in event of Primary and secondary brake system fails.

I am sure you know why I said secondary, not many people know there is two brake system on all of cars and light trucks, Primary was intended as normal, when fluid gets too low, secondary brake system takes over, if that fails then third brake known as E-Brake.

Yeah, I have seen E-brake cable failed due to rust. I never forget VW Jetta E-brake cable failed, it was about 3 feet long guy wire, easy to machine it (Manufacture), VW wants 80 dollars for this one, mind you, guy cable cost only 50 cents a foot!, three foot cost 1.50, VW wants 80 dollars? Kiss my ass! Im done with VW.

Thank god my Excursion has foot E brake pedal, my two other vehicles has handbrake as E-Brake, one of them is covered with shit from my wife  My 4th vehicle, been in garage for few years already, don't have any E-Brake at all... Its motorcycle, never had one, just good o'le dual brakes.

I had a 1967 Ford Mustang. It had the gas pedal, brake, foot emergency brake and also another foot control pedal on the far left that you could turn your winsdshield wipers on with. I haven't seen that in any other car since then. I've had a 1965, 1966, 1967 and a bought a new 1985 with the 5.0. The new mustang was my very favorite car.

Yeah, newer Mustangs are redesign from 1969 Mustang Mach 1, looks pretty to me. The SOHC motors are not my taste. My vote is a 1967 Mustang Shelby GT 500 w/a 428 CID OHV V8. I wish I have modern muscle cars is Vette, Camaro and Dodge Challenger SRT8, all of them are OHV V8 engines.

Thieves hates new car too!

LOL The three suckers tried to hijack this poor old lady's car and couldn't get it stolen! Why???? The secret has to do with old school!

Thieves attempt carjacking, can

Two of my three vehicles has stick! Third, only if know how to start when cold! It does not start like the way gasoline engine does...

I never like SOHC. What's about DOHC for gasoline motor? Auto or manual? I like OHV for Cummin I6 5.9 12 valves.

We called it the parking brake because that's what it was used for, such as parking on an incline.

except for the costs of repairs which are cheaper for old cars, sorry to burst your bubble(s)

Oh damn, CP makes me progressive redneck...

Let me sing... I love emission law... pollution is bad for you... climate change is damn real... Obama's bullshit is more truth... Put 5 CC in truck to make virtually no emission with just 3 MPG... CP is damn awesome but he's too liberal asshole...

One night, Feinstein and CP come to my home and take my guns away... take me to CA and they work too hard to liberalize people as possible and turn from anti-Obama to pro-Obama... I received F from emission inspection and CP wants me to trade truck to Prius... CP is really damn cheaper person to meet but he's too crazy and cool... I don't know to say...

Damn... I'm just playing with you. ;)
