Why talking about owning different guns?

well, maybe she doesn't want to conceal carry? :hmm:

Did you think of that? Maybe she wants to open carry.
It depends on where she lives. Derek didn't mention her saying anything about open carry.

indeed tongue and cheek. further whats this weird "keep it secret"idea
your more safe if the criminals know your packing. she has the right to tell anyone she damn well pleases anything she wants. period. its called freedom. if she wants to tell people she packs good for her. Maybe a little less worrying about a gil that to my eyes anyway seems a reasonable and good headed one is in order here. Worry about yourselves. Are you easy prey?
are you?
have you honestly asked yourself that?
has anyone here ever been a victim to a crime?
regardless it is i thought common knowledge that criminals target what they perceive as easy prey.
fill in the rest.

brace yourself ... open carry vs. conceal carry debate on the horizon

You know, there are some holsters made where a criminal just can't come up and take your gun away from you. It isn't as easy as you see in the movies.

If some people knew she had a gun on her they might to steal her pocketbook ,or worst knock her out to get the gun off her body.
I've never been keen about carrying a gun in a purse, briefcase, backpack, or anything that can be taken away or lost. If one carries, it should be kept on the person. IMO

If an attacker gets close enough to knock out someone, it's probably too late to make a good defense with a gun.

Berettas are sexy all around. 500 years and counting.
botteseni who is everybody? do you really want me to believe criminals who are looking to rape girls and or rob them are more likely to creep facebook and purposely choose the one who is armed and has everyone know she know show to use it, as opposed to the others who are not armed?
really?

No, I was assuming if she talks all around Facebook, she does the same in the real world.

General question for y'all

Maybe I am unusually up tight about the thought of a deaf person owning so many guns. My partner and I talked about it because we are in NC. She took the conceal to carry class and owns something she studied and bought. But she's hearing. I signed up for the class, thinking I own a gun, so it seemed like a good idea but then... I can't hear unless I'm turned on (we "ate" the money and I didn't go). So, we both have them (my aim after all these years is still pretty good and I have a kicker of a gun - the place I practice talked about the good shape it's in). But if Marcus barks in the middle of the night, I will not be the one who grabs my revolver. I might shoot my partner.

I suppose it's another matter if she's not here and I am alone but that doesn't happen often and I would likely use it in that case. It's tricky, though.

Help me out here. Do not attack me for being concerned about being deaf. I am and I own a gun. But I own it because I was hearing when I first started shooting. 30 years later, I have the same gun. That makes sense. But I don't advertise it - my neighbors do not know - and wouldn't want to advertise it. Deaf woman/gun/... a setup? I do talk about my prior skydiving adventures and have no problem letting people see that I do ride a motorcycle. But a gun and advertising it and being deaf? It seems rather stupid.

I agree with you Reba but I cannot help but go to the next step. People in our space happens all the time. Do we just blast a few so they get the message? I am joking here.
It comes back to how well a person operates in the world in the first place. But that is getting even further off topic.

Ah the Limping Chicken. Thanks Steinhauer. You have taken me to a new place.

Good for her. Maybe ask her to invite you to the range one day . you may like it. you have admitted to knowing very little. seize the day Darrick. win win.

I know a woman that does carry guy her pocketbook that design to hold a gun. If I did have a gun I would not go around broadcasting it on facebook and I would not carry it in a pocketbook or and I only time used a backpack
was when I when camping in the mountain with my dog.

In North Carolina you do not have to have a concealed carry permit to carry a concealed weapon on your own property/residence. I'm from NC and already checked into that.

I don't trust any purses for gun security. I had a purse snatched from me years ago. It's too easy to have a purse snatched, and then have your gun gone, too.

SBirn: here is my response before this thread is locked....that bike in my avatar is a '95 Honda Nighthawk 750...old, but not that old. The helmet is a GMax something, $130. Leather jacket is a Bilt Sprint perforated leather, on sale for $99.

Bike is now gone, have a new V-Strom now, along with better, more expensive gear, and yes, you get what you pay for....

Thanks for the compliment on my gear, though.....
