Cops kicked out of Denny's for having guns

No, quite simply in this incident the manager was clearly wrong.

I certainly wouldn't confront them by myself. If they truly were that "rough" looking or threatening, I would call the police to check it out. I wouldn't get in the face of "rough" guys and challenge them!

Yes & No!? The law does say that if a private establishment or privately owned area such as a business or home does not want you there as law enforcement, unless you are there on official business then you must leave at their request. It only holds true in private areas where police are not on official business. But I might add that you can not discriminate against them either.

1. I don't carry it all the time.

2. Just because I do have a permit for concealed carry doesn't mean I have no common sense.

3. People who have CCW's are under even more stringent regulation of obeying gun laws.
 
There are places where concealed gun owner can NOT carry, that is all federal and state establishments, airport, and places where they clearly posted prohibition of carrying in guns. Those that owns guns will easily honor that request and policy.

So you are saying that you are a chicken like me? :lol:

I understand that even gun owners aren't allowed to get involved in a situation like that. That's what we have cops for. Right?

There is really no way to know if the guys where undercover cops or criminals. I think it was not the smartest thing for cops to be doing right now after what happen in Newtown Ct., if they want to wear their guns in a restaurant they should wear something to let people know they're cops.
I do not mind a cop in a store wearing a gun but if I saw person with a gun , I would call the cops. I would never eat at Denny's anyway as they're racist.

It was stated that the Detectives did have their badges....and are worn on their belt loops....Cops have uniforms....

Just don't feel that anybody would walk into a restaurant with a gun on their hip or shoulder strap and sit down and talk with Cops in uniform.

Really? The cops where I live go into the coffee shops to buy coffee and food all the time.

you are free to rely on cops for that. we have a choice to rely on ourselves or cops.

They did leave.

Would you feel it was "simple as that" if you and your friends were part way thru your meal when the manager asked you to leave because your signing made other patrons uncomfortable?

there's a difference between gun and signing. in that situation, gun created a hostile environment and a patron was uncomfortable.

what do you expect in anti-gun state like Illinois?

They were displaying or wearing their badges. That identifies them as cops thus the guns.
