they were fighting for the sake of fairness. they believe that the riches should get taxed more, not less. and it makes no sense for middle class people to pay taxes that cause them to struggle.

why this? because if middle class is struggling with taxes and bills, this ain't good for economy.
For the sake of fairness, support the Fair Tax. :)

there you go. that's probably what they'd want.

I don't understand these silly quibbling like donation. it still doesn't solve this crisis we're having.

Why is it when others post an affirmation of someone's post you make such a snide remark? How is agreeing with someone's post any different than clicking the "like" button? (Other than it takes a little more effort to make a post than to click a button.)

No, that's the Flat Tax.

Fair Tax does away with the IRS and income tax.

Americans For Fair Taxation: Americans For Fair Taxation

Ah, thanks for the clarification. I have to say I find this concept rather interesting. Would it include taxes on real estate? For example, paying a 20% on a house?

What I'm wondering about though is actual revenue generated through the Fair Tax and whether it would meet or surpass the revenue the government receives now.

No it wouldn't, and for obvious reasons. I'm not surprised that crossed your mind.

One thing for sure, we wouldn't have an empire anymore with Fair Tax. Even the flat tax is more realistic..

that's of no concern to me. Government should learn how to budget it wisely. I find it hard to believe that our government needs trillions of dollars to function.

Nuttin' stopping them from offering a deal to pay more taxes as long they still get a tax break.

On new residential private homes, yes. On used residential private homes, no. On business properties, no.
