And again, how would their "donating" their money to our IRS solve the problem of inequity in the tax structures?

You think they are just trying to get rid of a few bucks? Surely you understand they message they are communicating by their demonstration.

But if you want to use that line of reasoning...I see plenty of conservatives around here moaning and whining about the national debt every chance they get. How many of you guys are making contributions to bring it down? Walk the walk, guys, walk the walk.
I want it done with less federal spending. Individuals can't unspend the government's money.

It's pointless to give money to someone with a spending problem and even more pointless to pay off the debt if they can still borrow. *shrug*

i agree except for the bold.....we don't even need that IMO. Oh, and a flat tax with a $25,000 exemption would create a mildly progressive tax without creating brackets.
And you may be right. We can differ on the details, but just about any system is better than the convoluted mess we have right now that just begs for crony capitalism.

I agree!

I'm certain they already make charitable contributions. But how is that going to create change in our tax structure?

I know it not going to made a change in our tax structure! But while they're waiting for a change in our tax structure some money could be given to food pantries, they're running out of food in my state.

donation and tax are not the same thing.

Yep these 2 dozen fellas could have donated the money they paid in travel expenses to food pantries....but they didn't.

Proof? You don't have anything whatsoever to determine how much these men pay out in charitable donations. I thought you were the guy that was all about proof. You seem to demand it in the case of Herman Cain.:cool2:

How do you know that they haven't? You don't.

And bringing charitable donations into a discussion of tax rates is just silly.

Here's your tissue. Brown spot again.
Why is it when others post an affirmation of someone's post you make such a snide remark? How is agreeing with someone's post any different than clicking the "like" button? (Other than it takes a little more effort to make a post than to click a button.)

True. One is voluntary and the other is not.

they were fighting for the sake of fairness. they believe that the riches should get taxed more, not less. and it makes no sense for middle class people to pay taxes that cause them to struggle.

why this? because if middle class is struggling with taxes and bills, this ain't good for economy.
