One night stand

I've know people who stayed faithful but ended up with STD because their partners cheated. Marriages and fully committed relationships aren't foolproof either. Lol
So why add more elements of risk to the mix?

Honestly Steinhauer's original post, which he candidly shared his views was not really judgemental because he acknowledges his reaction. I do admire that in a person. He's one of the rare gems who sees intimacy as something sacred and obviously has respect for women. At least that's my observation...

Thank you very much ... that is exactly what I was trying to convey - I was NOT trying to bash sunny signs. I also acknowledge that nobody is perfect and everybody makes mistakes - and it is important that we all learn from them and move on - as I said - live and learn.

Neither did I (calling Sunny a "name")....and I'm not in the 40's-50's age group!.... I'll soon be 65....I believe a lot of the "older" posters have the experience and wisdom and I only pointed out the pitfalls of a one night stand....

And as one poster stated, he thought that those older members were somewhat jealous and wished they had done this when they were "younger"....That's totally bull-shyt!....who's to say that they haven't had a "one night stand"?...And they "learned" from it.

Surely, it's obvious that Sunny was upset and crying....and it's my belief that she is sorry she did it for the intent of "getting even"...she was hurting inside....she drank too much alcohol.....a mistake was made. And I'm sure that we all hope that she will be able to repair her relationship with Dallas.

It doesn't mean you are lucky. It means you make good choices in the partner, and practice safe sex. I don't think anyone invited you to WATCH them have a one night stand. Or to watch them play Russian Roulette. **shrug**

You are sounding a tad neurotic.

I totally expected that response from someone like you. Engaging in high risk sexual behaviour is exactly like playing russian roullette - ask any medical doctor because you are not one.

I don't know if anyone's even posted the danger of possibly hooking up with some psycho nutcase who will end up being a sadist, stalker, or killer. :cold:

Not to nitpick - but some people actually marry those types.

With one night stands it's riskier because there's no time to check out the other person even in the most rudimentary things.

There are things that even a condom can not stop someone from catching. Food for thought.

I met one of those at church. Seriously.

See, that's the point. We all had to grow through it to learn from our experiences. Sunny is going to have to do the same. How many times have you, and I, tried to tell our kids something to give them the benefit of our experience so they wouldn't go through what we did? They don't get it. They have to learn through their own experience the same way we did. I know...there isn't a mom alive that wants to hear that, but it's the truth.:giggle:

You can ask for a health certificate.:P

I don't need to ask. I already know. And it is not the same as Russian Roulette. There are huge differences. That is a scare tactic. Let's stick to the facts, and drop the demoralizing and the scare tactics.

You joke, but it's reasonable to have some assurance . Or at least get tested if you don't.

It's unfortunate when people have to learn from mistakes, but not necessary to stick your head in the sand and think you are immune from catching an STD.

I married a church-going guy from a Christian background. We went to church together, had bible studies, etc. 7 years into the marriage he was one of the four involved in gang-...and nearly murdered me while my 3 year old watched. So, even Christians aren't exempt from being ideal partners.

Yet you are downplaying the cold hard facts - that is quite irresponsible. There are no huge differences between high risk sexual behaviour and playing russian roullette, except maybe engaging in high risk sexual behaviour is more like playing with three rounds in the chamber instead of one - and ... you can live a very long time with an STD.

Sorry you had to experience that. Being a Christian, to me anyways, has never been about being perfect. The message I get from it is a personal striving to be forgiven for being imperfect.

But yeah .... I have met some wonderful atheists and psychotic Christians, and vice versa.

Plenty "religious" people that I have encountered are extreme freaks. Not to go entirely off topic, but I was in a debate where very religious people were talking negative about atheist, etc, but you know what was funny, most of them go party Saturday night, get drunk, curse, do all the things they are not suppose to do, then go to church on Sunday morning like nothing happened. I've met a person that lets just say was closer to God then most, and he was the biggest freak! So my point is, a person is just a person, religious or not. Judge what they do, more than what they say. I don't judge a person whether they are an athiest or a religious person, I judge them by their actions.

:laugh2:...Perhaps, one day, they will have these machines in nightclubs so that a person can be tested....right there....no worries at all. :giggle:

Just "stagger" behind the curtain and if ur "positive" for a STD, all the lights will come on and more than likely, you'll be thrown out of the bar by the bouncers....tarred & feathered and branded with a big red "X".

Thank you.

Slut and ho (not even a real word) aren't part of my vocabulary.

I did use promiscuous but not relating to Sunny. It had to do with the euphemisms that society uses today to make behaviors more cool and acceptable.

Easy to feel directed at you when feeling bad and read those words.
