Mildred Patricia Baena, 50, has been identified as the mother of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s love child, RadarOnline.com reported Tuesday night.

Baena, who goes by Patty, was a housekeeper for the Schwarzenegger family for 20 years before retiring in January.

According to TMZ, the former housekeeper--who lives several hours outside of Los Angeles with Schwarzenegger’s illegitimate son and her three other children--began to "pursue Arnold" in the late 1990s. She reportedly told friends that she and Schwarzenegger had unprotected sex during the day at his house, though she didn't tell him that he was the father of her child until the boy was a toddler.

Schwarzenegger announced Monday night that he had fathered a child with a household staffer over a decade ago, before he was elected as California governor.

"After leaving the governor's office I told my wife about this event, which occurred over a decade ago," he said in a statement issued to the Los Angeles Times. "I understand and deserve the feelings of anger and disappointment among my friends and family. There are no excuses and I take full responsibility for the hurt I have caused. I have apologized to Maria, my children and my family."

When questioned by the paper Monday before Schwarzenegger issued his statement, the former household staffer--now revealed to be Baena--said another man was the child's father. She declined to comment after the Los Angeles Times notified her of Schwarzenegger's statement.

Shriver, who--with Schwarzenegger--announced the couple's separation after 25 years of marriage on May 9, issued a statement Tuesday responding to the revelation.

"This is a painful and heartbreaking time," Shriver said. "As a mother, my concern is for the children. I ask for compassion, respect and privacy as my children and I try to rebuild our lives and heal. I will have no further comment."

Correct, almost 5 million CA voters recalled him. I think it was around 125 official candidates who was running for a governor- a long sheet full of candidates to vote for. It was insane.

It ahppened 10 years ago, she was younger so I am sure also "prettier."

But her son... wow, totally looks like Arnold!

After 25 years, you'd think you're past the point of dealing with incompatibilities and such.

I was just chatting with a friend of mine tonight, a fellow I've known since college, and he said he and his wife were counting their blessings, because they know a lot of couples their age (early 60s) who have divorced over the last year or two. After the last kid has flown the nest, the parents decided to split. You wonder how long they were holding it together "for the sake of the children."

With Maria and Ah-nuld, maybe they were just holding it together for the sake of his political career. Now that's over, maybe they decided that it was time to break up.

That was what happened with my grandparents (my mom'sparents) and all 5 girls said "Thank God!" That was like 35 years ago. Since then my grandfather has been happily married to his 2nd wife for over 20 years and my grandmother married 4 more times after that until finding the right man. They had been married for like 20 years until he passed away 4 years ago but she has had a boyfriend for the past 3 years.

My mom and her sisters knew growing up that they werent happy together and didnt understand why they continued to stay together. They were happy when they split up.

I thought it was interesting.
 
Seems like famous people have a sordid history of fathering children with other people rather than their spouses. Interesting.
