The Faithless Insomniac Thread

I hope your feeling better pain-wise today. I had Starbucks coffee today (I got it for free!) so I'm feeling good now.

Am doing a little better. Last night I had to decide, Migraine meds or pain meds for legs and the migraine won.

Damn there is nothing like a migraine. I've had a persistent headache for the past week but it's not been painful like a migraine. I've had a migraine so bad I was throwing up for two days because it hurt so bad. It sucked.

I also did not get more than 1-2 hours of sleep last night. I had too much pain and could not take the pain meds. I am dragging now inspite of doing a lot. Coffee, here we come!

I don't think I'll get much sleep tonight cuz i've got pain in my leg. I've got an infection that's making the pain worse.

I hear ya. When I get one of those, I wonder if it's possible to die of a headahce.

Sleep deprivation does crazy sh*t to people. You feel weird, too. I actually thought I was hallucinating during that forty hr stretch without sleep. I may have been. When I've gone without sleep long enough, I've made myself hypomanic and I hallucinate. Talk about being in the Twilight Zone!

But, this was back in the day when taking care of myself wasn't high on my list of priorities. Now, I take the medication I'm prescribed and try to get 10 hrs of sleep. Most of the time, it works. But, I still have periods where I can't sleep no matter what I take or do.

I haven't had that happen to me even though I've done a couple of days withut sleep. I remember in hs I had not slept in 4 days and as I as finally drifting off to sleep, all four of the dorms at MSSD had the fire alarm go off at 2 am and in winter too. I was very angry cuz it meant yet antoher sleepless night. It was 2 hours before we got back in dorm. Several students were supendesed for that stunt.

The only time I've hallucinated was when my bipolar was getting way out of hand when I was 18 and no one knew what to do with me. And this was 9 years before I was diagnosed. They all thought I was on drugs. Another time I was severely ill and had a bad fever. I was watching some strange movie and I swear I saw leprechauns coming out of the TV set! Thankfully I've not hallucinated in years and I intend to keep it that way.

I hear you. Fevers have made me hallucinate too. I was saw snakes on my curtains. I've also seen blue halos/pink halos. It's trippy.

Yes. If you have a severe headache over several days and you suddenly collapse and die means the headache was a symptom of an aneurysm.

I think it has a lot to do with the things I'm diagnosed with. My Dr's have basically drilled it into my head that MUST get enough sleep. Now, I do.

I'm dealing with the remnants of a migraine as we type. Woke up with it and finally went to bed earlier this afternoon. I slept 4 hrs and I feel better; although the headache is still here.

I haven't been able to sleep at nite for past couple weeks cuz of my burning-hot feet.

I ended up taking Cafergot for mine. That is some killer medicine that leaves me loopy, but does away with the migraine. I only use that as a total last resort. Think it's the first time in 3 years I gone that route.

I've had insomnia for the past 3 years. It's gotten so old. Please, oh pretty please, let me sleep !!!!

My insomnia started to get bad almost a year ago. Then my uncle died, and my sister had her stroke.......nothing works.

Melatonin, Unisom, Nyquil. If you take enough you sleep. :aw:
