You must not have much to do since you seem to love arguing with younger people. Makes me think you haven't grown up.

Maybe i googled it because an elder recommended it. What kind of example are you setting? You're corrupting me!

Sorry but I just lol'd

You think a lot of things that aren't actual.

I'm not trying to set an example. Look to your parents and your pastor for that one.

Wait...how could you be there if you were a minute and a half away?

Have you not learned how sentence structure works?

I went to a public school a minute and a half away from me.. Never went to a christian school. only church.

a minute and a half away is referring to the school. And unless you are purposefully being ignorant, you would know that me is referring to where I live.

Yes and pretending to be a know it all is quite humorous also! Keep them comming I'm having fun here

That may be but you clearly recommended i google the age of puberty.

And there are too many variables you are not considering in your guesses of my age. But that's okay. You don't have the life experience to consider all that could play into it yet. I love watching a kid trying to put together a puzzle without all the pieces.

Yeah, I'm fully aware of syntax and sentence structure. Obviously, you aren't. I also know when to use "your" and "you're".

And the structure of your sentence is still saying that you and the school have a distance between you of a minute and a half, which means you can't be there if there is a distance between you.

The proper sentence structure would be, "I attended a school that was located a minute and a half from where I lived."

Ahhh peace and quiet now we can discuss CI's again!

I know when to use your and you're, i just prefer not to. Deaf people misuse language all the time. But you don't because your not deaf. Why are you even here. This is alldeaf.com and you aren't deaf at all. Perhaps if you had chosen to get your son a CI, you wouldn't be in here bashing me for getting one.

This is alldeaf.com and you aren't deaf at all. Perhaps if you had chosen to get your son a CI, you wouldn't be in here bashing me for getting one.

She never was bashing you for getting one, nor was I. I, for all parts, was attempting to give you information where you are grossly undereducated.

I don't want to expend the time to generate a list of the things you are not familiar with. Some of them are downright absurdly humorous.

and people say it is me that starts the fights here!

i find it utterly ridiculous that a thread asking for personal experiences about getting a CI is hijacked by the anti-CI folks. Why would you come into a thread just to tell them that they are wrong, that they don't accept themselves, that they are in denial, that they are limiting themselves, and on and on? It's none of your buisness how they deal with their deafness!! And the MOST ironic part is that it isn't a Deaf person making these statements, they are hearing!!

how dare you judge someone for their choices? They are deaf and you aren't, haven't been, and in all likelyhood, never will be. Who gave you the right to decide what is the best way to deal with hearing loss?

There is no shame in deafness, and there is no shame in choosing to hear. One way of living with deafness is not "healthy" and all others wrong.

The info you were giving him had nothing pertaining to his question's re-read the op. Then read your's and jillio's post! Neither of you added anything to his questions about the surgery or the device! why can't you see this. Neither of you two have a CI or had the surgery. But sure felt the need to explain to him the other outlet's that are out there for the HOH/deaf population. That did nothing to contribute to what he was seeking.

Read up. Seriously.

You claim you rarely stay at cheap places. The more expensive the better it looks, the better it looks the less likely it is to have sound proofing. Unless of course your staying with the mafia. They like to kill people without being heard...

Actually (having been in the music and pro audio field professionally for more than 15years) sound proofing in apts, hotels, offices and homes is able to be installed so that it is completely invisible as it's installed BEHIND the drywall, UNDER the carpet/hardwood and ABOVE the ceiling space.

the "obvious" things (the "triangle foams, drapes, waffle patterned mounted boards etc you are referring to is not actually soundproofing, but acoustic dampening etc which are used to control reverb etc in studios for example. (they also deadened the sound, but that is NOT the primary role of those materials)

Acoustic dampening materials are produced by the same companies that make sound proofing which sometimes leads novices to believe they are one in the same.

Show us where we were discounting his method of dealing with his hearing loss please. I'm simply doing what YOU did and now you come in here and whine about it... Tell me - does any luxury hotel NOT come with sound proof rooms? Zebadee seems to think the more expensive they are the more likely they dont come with soundproofing? Would you want your hotel neighbors to know you're having a fisting orgy in a luxury hotel?

There, I was simply correcting him. That all there is to it. Again, show us where we were telling him that getting a CI was wrong.
