He wasn't venting. He was, I don't know, promoting hate crime. Then you have all these people saying "YEAH!" "RIGHT ON"

He was obviously venting. Promoting hate crime? Please, knock off with the hyperbole.

It's a very hateful post toward the deaf community, that's for sure.

Some people are angry by nature. Some people are addicted to being angry. If they don't get a good dose of anger going they will go find a reason.

I'm betting this parent was angry before the child was born, and had the child been hearing then he would be angry about something else. To me the post is more about ego than it is about the child or about D/deafness.

He's not an audist, he's just an ass.

Poor child.

That came across to me as well.

This thread makes me truly wonder about the state of minds those parents who contribute to the threads.

Are those parents aware they are contributing to the toxicity of their own children's formative years?

So you had a CI on your own Deaf child, it was your own parental decision. The constant need to go around on forums to post your justification does make me wonder if you, as a parent, are aware that you can be damaging your child's formative years.

If you say the CI is a wonderful thing, then leave it be.

He was posting on a site that is specifically for complaining/bitching. I think he had a very bad day, probably a particularly bad interaction with a Deaf person, and he went and vented.

Replace it with this: F-ck you, [name race color] , and everyone else say 'yeah' That's right!

You can see how hateful it sounds.

Just to those who didn't return the same respect to him and his daughter. He is learning ASL and is communicating ASL with his daughter.

If he have a problem with certain deaf people, then keep it private. Don't go out and say "F-ck you, deaf community" It does alot of damage when a person do stuffs like this.

You weren't helping him at all, dear.

Fanning the fire by pitching in yours too as well.

He did. It was about this one person. And the fact that his wife was dealing again with more the same crap from some in the Deaf community about her daughter and CI. He even made a note about the sudden "fame" on his ranting in his post found in AD (http://www.alldeaf.com/our-world-ou...like-we-need-educate-some-hearing-people.html).

Did any of ya'll bothered to read his posts? The thread?

In all fairness, my OP was a blanket statement towards a group, when I knew at the time of posting that it didn't fit all Deafies (not by a long shot). It wasn't really fair for me to group them all like that.

Not that any Deaf people stepped in when a grown Deaf man points at my daughter and says she looks like a space alien and a robot. Nor had anyone corrected a Deaf mother of three when she told me that I was being abusive and should have my children taken away. In fact, I've never seen a Deaf person correct another Deaf person's dim view of "outsiders" when in view of a hearing person.

But whatever. Interacting with the community "in the wild" certainly hasn't left a bad taste in my mouth. [/sarcasm]

Try looking from his perspective for a change and understand why he vented. Read the thread and his postings.

Again, a non-sequitur and an attempt at hyperbole. Not the same thing there. He made it clear later in his posts that he wasn't trying to label the whole community but just the few idiots out there. Did you read the thread at all?

If you had bothered to read the thread you could see that I told him in no uncertain term that what he was saying was very offensive and wrong. Guess you didn't bother....

I don't care who he was targeting. It is still damaging and NO EXCUSE.

That was the point I was trying to make.

I do not bother repeating myself over and over when I have stated my point before.

Once again you are you, FJ, the constant need to prove the point over and over. I'll give that to you.

I read the thread, all 5 pages of it and there comes a time when I know my point has been stated.

They are wrong for doing that but the father is wrong for saying F*ck you to all of us because of the immaturity of some Deaf people. I am not responsible for every Deaf person just because I am a part of the Deaf community. That makes this father just as immature.

The father was generalization all deaf people by saying 'fuck you' over and over again because some deaf person called him a called him a monster !
The dad not helping his child acting this way! I think he sending his kid a mix message , by being angry at all deaf people!

Did a Deaf person who went out and say "F*ck you, hearies" ever recanted and acknowledged the bad judgement in using a broad brush on a group?

Well, this guy did and realized his mistake for using a broad brush against the Deaf community.

with this kind of attitude - no wonder
