I'm surprised there have been no threads started about the riots and financial collapse in Greece. This could have huge impact on all of Europe, and eventually the USA.

Did I overlook the threads?

If so, MODs please merge this one.

This is exactly where the U.S. is going if the out of control spending isn't stopped and reigned in.

I was aware of it but sad to say - I didn't care :(

I dunno why but I didn't really care. we have our own problem and they have theirs. Since Greece is a member of EU - EU will take care of it but it was said that the unaffected are the wealthy.

The economy in Spain is getting worsen in a fast rate as their unemployment rate is around 20 percent. It seems to hit almost every country in Europe hard like a domino effect.

And it will affect the rest of the world as well.

Yea, the Greek govt wants to cut wages and raise taxes so people are rioting against it but the govt justification is to prevent Greece from going bankrupt. If Greece goes bankrupt, it will effect other European countries causing a chain reaction but I do understand how their citizens feel. It seems like a no-win situation.

Agreed.

So you are OK with the USA sending them our money?

Uh oh, it's the TARP, Stimulus Package, and companies bailouts all over again that didn't work. And now, we have to bail them out? Our tax dollars? Why? We don't even have the friggin money in the first place.

Without TARP or bailout, US will be collapsing country and becomes worst Great Depression.

For me, if banks and domestic auto industries fail so I would prefer to nationalization of them instead of bail out.

happens everywhere....
It will be coming here.

I'm surprised more ADers aren't interested in world affairs. I thought the complaint was always that Americans didn't pay attention to what was going on in the rest of the world.

Maybe it's true. :dunno:
