Cops are not the law, they required to enforce the law.

I agree that 60 mph is a dangerous speed especially for older drivers.

She did drove 60 mph into a 45 mph speed limited. That's 15 mph more than what the speed limited sign had posted. That's going over the speed limited, you can't do that, you'll get ticketed for that. :)

Exactly. It doesn't matter if she speeds 75 on 60, 80 on 65. Any speed above 60 mph is dangerous for all ages especially teenager and much older drivers. Their reflex reactions are not quick enough. By the time they react, they're already 300+ yards ahead within a couple seconds! That's 3x the football field length!

aight people. let's calm down for a moment.

thats all you respond too? since you didnot respond to anything else I said im guessing you agree.

No it does not mean that I agree, it means I don't want to discuss this non-sense with you.

Citizens have rights, and there are many things that police officers cannot do, they're not the law and they are not above the law either. They are required to enforce the law and they should.

Yes, that´s right. My hubby´s great Aunt still drove after 2 heart surgeries. She drove until she was 88 years old and died natural... Some people I know have bad heart and can driving.

I have a cousin who had a few hearts attacks and he still drive his car. People have sex with bad hearts! My dad was 75 years old with a bad heart and that did not keep him from having sex. People do not stop living because the have a poor heart!
The old woman should get a ticket for speeding ,I do have to say she was
gusty old woman! I hope I will be that gusty if I live to be her age! I wonder if Jiro is threated by strong women!

good for you! that's your country's way and I respect that. In my country, we do it differently. Please respect it. :ty:

In here - signing the ticket IS NOT an admission of guilt. It means you promise to show up the court later. If you do not sign the ticket, it means you refuse to show up at the court. That's why officers will arrest you. Please respect the law. It's not very hard. Just sign the ticket and you can go to court to argue about it. It's very simple.

Not signing the ticket means no such thing. It means that you do not agree with the issuance of the citation.

the cops are the law, and I didnt see that happen here this wasnt brutality this was pure stupidity on the womans part, she may have had alzheimers or something the officer told her repeatedly to follow a command (simple one at that) she failed to comply so wham she gets tazed, are you saying its okay for people to talk back to cops and disobey an order?

Alzheimers would mean that the woman was not in control of her faculties. Are you saying that its okay for cops to taze elderly people with dementia simply because they are sick?

So what is your suggestion, Jiro. That we have several different speed limits on the same road depending on age? 16-21= 40 mph, 21-40 = 60 mph, 40-55=50mph, 55 and over = 40 mph?:laugh2:

And teenagers reactions are actually quicker than those of an adult, not slower, generally speaking. Not all older adults have reaction times that have reduced from those of a younger adult. It depends on the individual, life style, and health.

you still have to sign the ticket, then later you go to court to contest it

Dear sweet Jiro..

I need to ask you several things that you're very passionate about.

You're very passionate about following the law, CCWs, adhering to societal expectations and so on..

If you recall my post here..

I'd only like to bring up a small point that some people do forget.

When people get elderly, they don't just age. Their motor functions such as memory processing ages, their social interaction skills ages so you can expect some elderly citizens to act like their grandchildren.

I'd also like to bring up your signature.. time for you to use your sunglasses and see this situation from an outsider's perspective like I am doing. I'd also love to give you my white cane so you can emphasize like I am doing.

Compassion, my dear Jiro.. is what I feel you need to use in this situation instead of being a stickler for the law.

Some laws are meant to be broken to see the real picture.

Granted, actions have consequences and in the long run.. situations become much better because compassion was used.

Dear Jiro.. try using this

jillio, keep in mind that we are debating with a member that is a self-proclaimed pro-fascist. We all know of his intentions so it's always best to err on the safe side and avoid his baiting approaches.

You are quite right, Mrs. B., and your advise is well taken. :ty:

Actually I respect and obey kind of law in ANY countries, I visit to no matter either they are dumb, odd, etc or not...

I am HERE to debate agree to disagree with anyone over our country´s law, etc.

Get the difference?

Why are we talking about me?

It´s my point why I questioned you because you keep on saying that she is reckless and dangerous driver because she drove few mph over speed limit. In the way, you talking sound to me that you NEVER drive over speed limit in your life. Should I label you as a reckless and dangerous driver if you had been drove few mph over speed limit.?

I didn't speed at 60mph. She did. That is a very dangerous speed. This is not just speeding over "15" mph. She sped 60 MPH (that's 96.6 KPH for you). Don't you agree that it's dangerous to speed that fast?

I know the math convertion between mph and kph. For me, 60 mph is not dangerous but limited driving.
