There are more than 600 neurologic diseases. Major types include

Diseases caused by faulty genes, such as Huntington's disease and muscular dystrophy
Problems with the way the nervous system develops, such as spina bifida
Degenerative diseases, where nerve cells are damaged or die, such as Parkinson's disease and Alzheimer's disease
Diseases of the blood vessels that supply the brain, such as stroke
Injuries to the spinal cord and brain
Seizure disorders, such as epilepsy
Cancer, such as brain tumors
infections, such as meningitis

MedlinePlus: Neurologic Diseases

No where is deafness included in this list of the various major types of neurological disorders.

We were addressing the term "neurological" as that's the term you used not any specific disease of the nervous system. I never really addressed any specific diseases of the nervous system to begin with anyways. Its you who brought up stuff about that and that really had nothing to do with what I was originally discussing.

You stated that disorders of the central processing centers are sensorineural hearing loss. They are not. They are neurological disorders. It had everything to do with what you were discussing because it is you that mistakenly identified a cause of sensorineural hearing loss that is incorrect. What you described is a neurological disorder.

What do you think a neurological disorder is if it is not neurologic in etiology?

Nowhere in those words do you find me stating you labeled labeled 8th cranial nerve as "neurological".

Where in the world did I say you did. I said you identified disorders of the brain as being a cause of sensorineural hearing loss. When you describe disorders related to processing of stimuli in the brain, you are referring to neurological disorders, not sensorineural hearing loss. Go back and read your own posts. I think you are confusing yourself.

No I didn't.

I'm not going to get into a he said she said with you.

No I didn't.

Yes, you did. Right here:

NOT true! If the central processing centers of the brain are damaged there will be sensorineural hearing loss. That has nothing to do with the inner ear though.

And that's not a quote of what I said nor is that what you originally said I said.

But that's exactly what you suggested when you implied I should just know the meaning.

Nope. Not what I implied at all. Evidently, you are projecting your feelings onto my words. That is why you are misunderstanding.

And that's not a quote of what I said nor is that what you originally said I said.

I cut and pasted it directly from your post #51. Is someone else using your screen name to post?

And it is exactly what I said you said. That disorders of the central processing areas of the brain are a cause of sensorineural hearing loss. And I said that they are not. They are neurological disorders, not sensorineural hearing loss.
