Many of us enjoy socialising online, because it's often easier for us. With that in mind, has anyone here tried Second Life?

Basically, Second Life is a virtual world where adults can create their own virtual characters. You can make your character look however you want. In a way, it's like The Sims, only that you chat with real people instead.

On Second Life, you can:

- Build/create
- Buy land
- Buy a virtual dream home
- Fly & drive
- Go to clubs
- Run a real business
- Socialise & meet new people
- Explore
- Learn
- Program
- Role play
- View & display art
- Design things using in-game CAD tools (virtually endless amount of possibilities)

If this sounds like something you'd be interested in, I recommend signing up at Virtual Worlds, Avatars, free 3D chat, online meetings - Second Life Official Site

I should probably point out that some people use Second Life to do "adult things". It has been in the media a few times because of things related to that. However, not everyone is that way inclinded. People use it for all sorts of things. Some people have even become real life millionaires through SL... (It's possible to sell things in-game and exchange it for real money)

This reminds me of a movie I saw recently... Gamer.

I also saw a couple episodes on C.S.I.: New York where the CSI team had to track down an assassin using Second Life to track victims.

Ive tried Second Life and just stopped using it, since it was too much of a laggy game for my computer. Oh well.

I've never tried it. How old is your computer?

I doubt I would like it since I'm not into MMO stuff. :(

Got it in 2007 or 2008. But anyways, I need to get a better video card and more space for the computer. otherwise everything runs fine on the computer.. its just the video card that really sucks and I just wanted more space. :)
