The point of purchasing iPhone from was Apple was intended to have it unlocked to be used on supported carrier providers without locking into carrier 2 years contract, same can be said for prepaid. If you are not happy with carrier service, you can use it on another carrier. The links you provided cannot be used on another carrier, hence the $200 price tag. :)

FYI, all carriers ended two years contract so you won't see $200 price tag anymore.

Really? You can't keep your distaste out of any thread? Bad form.
I'm no fan of Apple in general but I wouldn't go around pissing on other peoples' threads like that meme either.

Will be interesting to see how the sales go for iPhone 7 since they removed the 3.5mm headphone jack. BlueTooth will eat up whatever increase in battery they put in there anyway. No thanks. I don't even use blue tooth on my Galaxy.

It comes with an adapter that plugs in where you plug in to charge.

Yup - forgot about that.. was reading comments about that on some FB posts.. lot of people aren't happy with it. I don't know if the DAI cord would be compatible as it seems like Apple is trying to keep it to their propriety earbuds.

It uses Bluetooth 4.1 technology so it shouldn't have big impact on battery life.

Hm thanks- will look into that. I know of a few people who uses bluetooth- though about the only thing I use my DAI cord with my phone is my music that's it..with a really really really rare voice phone call. really rare. LOL

HTC was first company to kill 3.5 mm audio jack for Android phone, replaced with USB Type C, before Apple did.

Hmm interesting considering my myTouch phone was a HTC brand (I think) and it had a 3.5mm jack...but then I bought it in 2010 I think it was...

But from what i read in the article you posted and the comments section, sounds like HTC eventually dropped that and went back to 3.5mm jacks.

It was T-Mobile G1, but HTC added it later, then removed this year before Apple did it.

I use Bluetooth all the time because it connects with my new ReSound HAs. I never used the headphone jack. I don't know where it is on my phone
But really, all carriers stopped the 2 year contract ? I did not know that.

Verizon has a 2 year monthly "contract" for paying off the phone if you can't afford the full price. That's basically what the contracts were about anyway. However, with the new plans you can pay it off earlier than than 2 years if you want. The phone I'm thinking of getting will be either $16.xx or $23.xx per month depending on the storage.

That makes sense. I still have the iPhone 5 and love it. I skipped the 6. So I'm not sure if I'm going to 7 just yet. I need justification for upgrading! :)

I have the 4s (cheapy that I am, I get what I can for 99 cents & 2 yr contract). I'm due for an upgrade and may get the 6 SE (the 6 in a 5s body). My daughter is on the same contract, and the contract actually ends next week, so waiting to see if she wants to stay with me or get her own phone & service now that she has a job. She already helps pay for the data plan.

Cool! How is the battery drainage? People were complaining about that in the link Foxrac posted. Would love wireless or no-wired... someday.

I do not find that it drains my battery. That is a surprise that some have said so. But then again, I have multiple chargers everywhere - home, car, work. So I charge my phone whenever I have an opportunity, and I never have a dead phone.

You might do good with a family plan? My parents have their phone on my sister's plan, so there's 5 phones being used among her family plan.

We have a shared plan where we share the data. It doesn't matter to me whether she stays on my plan or not as I will make her pay a portion if she stays on mine.
